You also need to consider that Martinez is a natural Middleweight. Floyd is a natural welterweight. Cotto is also a natural welterweight, he's just lazy which is why he's fighting at 154 right now. Floyd is not fighting a natural 154lber in Cotto and Cotto is not fighting a natural 154lber in Floyd. Why should Floyd fight a guy who is naturally two weight classes bigger than him when he can fight guys that are the same size as him, in easier fights, that make him more money?
Like I said before. That would just be ******, and don't give me the "he should do it for his legacy" bullcrap because his legacy as the best fighter of this era is already firmly established and regardless of how many top level opponents he dominates, with the critics, it is never ever going to be good enough, there is always going to be another guy out there like Martinez who they claim he is "ducking". It's funny to me how people always want to try to force Floyd into certain fights that they feel he owes to them, but when it comes to Manny "The People's Champion" Pacquiao. He never has to fight a legitimate threat, he can fight handicapped, washed up and damaged fighters over and over and over and over again and every time he gets a free pass for doing it.Last edited by JK1700; 04-14-2012, 09:29 AM.

The chances of Mayweather facing him after a Cotto fight are low and a lower level fight would and should be welcomed before he faces Martinez. Trust me, I can't wait for them to fight either, IMO it's a better fight than Pacquiao-Mayweather but you have to look at it from a business and pattern point of view.
Business meaning, for example, Canelo bringing in more money and an easier fight whereas Martinez brings shiz to the table but a higher threat. There is no doubt in my mind that this fight will take place but I think it will happen in 2013. I'm cool with that. Martinez isn't going anywhere.

even if he doesnt. hes probably not gonna wait for martinez to recover before making his next fight. im sure his next fight will be announced sometime after his prison sentence is over. id bet on it in fact.
