That's what he does and doesn't even know it.

Canelo and Cotto are not the same as fighting a Martinez and Manny. The level is just not the same at this point in time.

Here are two people using the complete opposite excuses!

One guy says Floyd is old while the other guy says Martinez will be young at 38. Which one is it?

All I'm saying is that Floyd's problem is that he picks fight's at the most opportune time or he is really bad at improving his legacy. Take your pick!

Floyd should have already fought Manny. The longer he waits the more risk that that fight will be meaningless like the Cotto fight. ~5 years too late!

Martinez could have already happened. Floyd should have tried to make a fight with Martinez or Manny way before a Cotto fight, at this point in his career and way before the excuses can come out!

As far as Martinez being old next year: The truth is that once a fighter gets to a certain age, you just never know when he gets old in front of your eyes. It could even come sooner than 38 for some and for some they can do it for longer ....

You're sure about that huh? Im not sure Chavez gets past Lee and i hope for Chavez's sake he is not overlooking this fight because he isnt good enough to overlook anyone at that level.

fighting martinez isnt the same as fighting manny either. martinez is by far the more dangerous fight.

You kind of contradicted yourself twice (several posts) by saying that the reward would be too minimal .... so what does that have to do with legacy?

I agree .... but every day that goes by things can change. Martinez can start looking old then what?

                  I know what.

You guys will be saying he beat Martinez (like Mosley) while the rest of us will be stating that Martinez looked old and Floyd should have fought him when it made sense!

Things unfortunately never change ..... you know, like this upcoming Cotto fight!

Both? Floyd is old and Martinez will not be next year?

Bradley is a proven champ, unified 140 & beat every other top fighter at 140 save for Khan who just lost to a Bradley victim.
                      Meanwhile Canelo's beaten............................................ .......................

Anyway, this tread is about Floyd, Martinez & Canelo. Pacman needs no mentioning here.
what a great cop out, you pull a double standard that can EASILY be flipped on Manny just as much as Floyd and then say the bold statement as if to say "Manny is guilty of it too but this ain't about Manny, Manny isn't the guy I love to hate so leave him out"

Canelo is a proven champion at 154 also, he beat many good names and is a rising and hot star, he has a whole country behind him. have you seen thousands of people travel across the country for Sergio Martinez? they were GIVING AWAY tickets in Modell's for Martinez-Barker

Canelo has his own fan base, his marketability is threw the roof, plus he has an extensive resume at this point. lets take a look..

Miguel Vasquez x2 (current Lightweight champion, Canelo beat him at 140!)
                      Ryan Rhodes
                      Kermit Cintron
                      Lovemore N'Dou
Carlos Baldomir (by 6th round KO! only the 2nd to do it)
                      Jose Miguel Cotto
                      Matthew Hatton
                      Alfonso Gomez
                      Luciano Cuello
                      Lanardo Tyner
Shane Mosley (IF he beats Shane on May 5th)

and you're telling me that he is not a worthy opponent? stop the bull**** already man Saul Canelo Alvarez is MORE than qualified for a big fight like that. what you gonna do? 1 word debunks of all the fighters he's faced? "shot", "finished", "cans"? or can we stick to reality and just call you out on your bull****? I'd like that alot..

Bradley proved himself but when there was an agenda involved even Bradley wasn't worthy of a Pacquiao fight to you all because he didn't fight Khan. Khan losses to someone Bradley beat and somehow the hate Bradley received disintegrated and once Bradley got the Manny fight now all of a sudden Bradley is a "tough test" for Manny with no mention of Khan? the point here is that once there is an agenda in play like there was with Bradley-Khan and Mayweather-Pacquiao the whole topic is rigged.

anyone can pick and debunk Bradley going by the logic that you're going by, you understand? if you picking and choosing little things to write someone off then it's effortless to write anyone you don't like off but when you stick to FACTS you'll see that Canelo is a world champion and has beaten more than 10 notable names, has a whole country behind him and a buzz from here to Mexico.

I heard Floyd saying Canelo needs about 2-3 more fights to be considered, the best outcome to that IMO would be Floyd fights Cotto, goes to jail, comes back to a soft touch to get him ready for Canelo and then Manny in mid-late 2013
