Comments Thread For: Pacquiao Says Mayweather Offered a $40 Million Flat Fee

I'm not believing a word of this until further notice. The only way not splitting the revenue is fair is if one brings in substantially more revenue than the other in terms of sponsors/contracts/whatever business stuff I know nothing about. Otherwise, I hope Floyd is just posturing so he can get the May 5th date. Also, Pac you don't sell more ppv save for the Marquez fight, which a lot a people bought because they thought it was the last fight in the way of the superfight. Let's get the official numbers of the Mosley fight...

Mayweather could go **** himself. How does he expect not to give Pac a 50-50 split. Floyd must be scared. They both sell ppvs and bring fans to the arenas. Actually Pac brings more fans. Be civilized floyd and do the right thing.

I do think there is some risk if this true. For Floyd to offer that, it must mean that he thinks the event shatter records. But, if he doesn't I do wonder how much would be left the cable outlets, and pac get their money.
[....]
But, it is somewhat of a risk. But, you right more than likely this event will break all kinds of records.

All this means, is that Floyd doesn't want the fight and has never wanted the fight.
But most of us knew than already.
I can't work out why Pacquiao hasn't figured that out as yet.
Why bother negotiation with this chump, who just negotiates to get some coverage for his fights against a lesser opponent.
Pacquiao if he had any sense should break off negotiations all together a never enter in to them again and not waste another second of his boxing career of Floyd Mayweather.
Floyd will be remembered as an ATG ducker.

Pacquiao does not generate more money than Mayweather and that's a fact. This is business and numbers don't lie.Check their common opponents,Pacquiao does not know business.
In any case Bob Arum has alreaday said it would take more than 50-50 to get this fight made because before Floyd called Bob had already said the date was a non-starter

So say the fight makes 80 million it would actually be split 50:50. It only disadvantages Pacquiao if the fight makes 100 million and even then the guarantee of 40 million outweighs the added 10 million he would make. The fight would have to generate 120 million for Pacquiao to seriously get shafted and even then I doubt as depending on how his contract is drafted there is the strong possibility that Bob Arum would not be able to take a cut from the money Pacquiao made.
It's safe to that this fight would do over 120million in PPV revenue.
If the fight does Floyd-Oscar numbers at $70.00 that would generate 168,000,000. After the cables and satellite companies get their cut that would leave like $84,000,000. Lets say 4million on the undercard(you know it's going to be weak and whatever other expenses) that might leave Floyd with 40mil plus the rest of the revenue like Live gate and whatever else that Pac won't be able to get.
But, if it breaks Oscar-Floyd record and they charge more than 70 bucks which is possible. Floyd can walk away with way more than Pac. But, it's still somewhat of a gamble.
