Why 50/50? Who else is PAC going to fight and make that amount of money? FMJ makes that no matter who he fights. The pressure is on Manny. He is the vulnerable fighter in this equation. By the latest accounts when Floyd steals Cotto from him and JMM n Peterson are scheduling a fight in April he is left with Bradley for 5mil. If he loses he is history. Now that Sergio has stated he is accepting the challenge of Floyd at 150. he can continue to dictate his opponents purses. Why hasn't boxingscene posted Sergio's interview accepting challenge?

It's safe to that this fight would do over 120million in PPV revenue.
If the fight does Floyd-Oscar numbers at $70.00 that would generate 168,000,000. After the cables and satellite companies get their cut that would leave like $84,000,000. Lets say 4million on the undercard(you know it's going to be weak and whatever other expenses) that might leave Floyd with 40mil plus the rest of the revenue like Live gate and whatever else that Pac won't be able to get.
But, if it breaks Oscar-Floyd record and they charge more than 70 bucks which is possible. Floyd can walk away with way more than Pac. But, it's still somewhat of a gamble.
Assuming that you're figures are accurate.. 168M will be divided as 40% to HBO and Time Warner, and 60% to the fighters and their promoters.. That means around 100M to both fighters, which is 50M each....So Pac is giving away 10M revenue (of his share) on PPV alone.
And that is not counting the TV rights for international broadcast, the live gate, and close circuit, which would probably another 20 to 30M, which will all go to Floyd...
Its a bad deal..Last edited by mikemurni; 01-26-2012, 03:15 AM.

Asking for 50% is perfectly reasonable. What isn't is all the bull**** they were trumpeting on about before the split issue arose.

This may all be true but it's irrelevant. MP deserves 50% because his PPV numbers say he does. The fact he doesn't get to keep the same % of the revenue he generates that Floyd does is irrelevant.....that's just his own poor business sense. He has the sense to not make fights happen unless he's getting the lion's share, but on the flipside he doesn't really know the size of the final pool of $$$ and how much he should really be getting.

Really? I can't believe how ****** you all are. If Floyd fights Cotto it will sell more PPV's than Manny vs Cotto.

That seem like a good offer to me, How much is Arum going to guarantee Pac without PPV share $10M? And even with PPV share probably another 3-4 Million tops, Maybe am wrong but 40M is probably the biggest monies pac would have ever earn.
