I'd bet my car, house and possessions that Leonard or Hearns takes Floyd to school at welterweight and throw a little extra on Hearns by KO and Leonard dropping him at some point during the fight.

Floyd by decision against anybody in history

Whoever said the TS is the definition of a ***** is exactly right. Floyd is one of the best boxers I've ever witnessed in action and truly is a jack of all trades but I'd give him little to no chance against a prime Hearns at 147. My reasons are that Hearns was too tall and had an incredibly large reach, add that to the fact that Hearns was a lot younger at welterweight than Floyd is now.
Sugar ray Robinson would put one hell of a hurting on Floyd. It would be the Castillo fight but worse. Against the smaller guys and definitely against the slower guys I'd bet everything on Floyd but against true ATG welterweights I'm not sure Floyd can beat them although he definitely can hang with them.

To be perfectly frank, Floyd has not been hit by a guy with, say, Leonard's power ever. Sure! Mosley could hit, Oscar could hit, that's not in dispute! But when Floyd faced them, they were way past it. Even if "the punch is the last thing that goes in a fighter", and this is true, the timing, the placement, and the speed goes. Did Oscar ever land his money punch - the left hook to the chin - on Floyd? Do you honestly think he wouldn't have done that if he was in the shape of when he fought Chavez?
I have nothing but respect and admiration for Floyd as a fighter but you have to realize, if Shane had scored that round 2 strike on him when he was at his best, Floyd would not have survived. And, I don't really think he was truly hurt by it when as it played out.

You think that Mosley right buckled Floyd? Hearns right wouldve put Floyd to sleep. A mi mi con Los niños.

I'd probably be fine betting the house on Floyd against almost anyone at 130, beyond that I certainly would not.

Put it like this, I would never bet AGAINST Mayweather
BUT I would predict Hearns to win. Would I put money up for hearns, like I said no...

So this thread is basically to just tell everyone you think Mayweather is the safest bet to beat anyone? Ok
But, I mean, Hearns is obviously the safe bet against Mayweather at 147.
Whether or not one were to think Mayweather has a good chancce or not. Common sense tells you Hearns is obviously the safe bet to take.
The odds are stacked against Mayweather in that fight. Which would be why he wouldn't be the safe bet to take.
I never projected it as fact. I said: "if I had a full years income on the line the safest bet I'd chose is Floyd by decision against any fighter in history."
I made it clear several times that there is no guarantee that Floyd would beat EVERYBODY in history. All you have to do is use phrases like
"I believe"
"I think"
"in my opinion"... like I have been doing
To say that whoever WOULD beat Floyd is ******, unrealistic, and childish. Makes me feel like I'm talking to kids. I wont take you seriously if you say that X, Y, Z, WILL beat Floyd and WILL be favored ect.
Floyd has been in fights before where odds were supposedly stacked against him. He's proven to be a fighter to find a way to win and usually makes it looks very easy. Floyd is a special fighter in the sense that he does the unexpected. It's not intelligent IMO to bet against fighters like that.Last edited by Mr.0pal; 12-27-2011, 07:44 PM.
