great post. i agree its more about floyd being hated rather than race. its frustrating when people go straight to race card & choose to ignore floyd's actions that lead to him being hated.

joe, vic, & floyd are to blame.

personally, i wouldve rather seen the fight go on so we can see floyd put on a show... but apparently, people here are content with being robbed from seeing a good fight.

It wasn't the best decision, but it was justifiable and more importantly, legal. Mayweather has done nothing wrong but win (by any means nessesary) in the confines of the governining bodies' rules and regulations.

Was Ortiz looking for a way out?? I don't think so. Do I think that he was frusterated as hell and acted as result of the frustration? Yes. Classless and immature? Yes. Deserved what he got as a result? I think so. As much as people hate Mayweather and can probably be the most hated athlete; in this situation, he shouldn't be the scapegoat. Logically, I can't see anyone argue that.
My brother JBell11, I wasn't implying that anyone is crying racism. The issue is how the media viewed this event. How Ortiz comes off as the victim who did something that are on the books as being out of bounds and his opponent who did everything within the lines.

Thank you bro!! I appreciate the input.

the funny thing is the floyd apologists on this forum... BOTTOM LINE, if you were to place ANY other fighter in floyds position, the fighter wouldve gotten criticized. PERIOD. the ACTION is getting the criticism, not the fighter. in fact, the blame is being passed around evenly to all parties involved (joe, vic, & floyd).... so the whining and playing the victim card is pretty pathetic.
You're full of it. Ortiz was looking right at Mayweather when Mayweather hit him with the 1st left hand. He didn't look away until he got hit. There was nothing unsportsmanlike from Mayweather. The fight had resumed and Mayweather was ready to fight instead of hugging and kissing. The intentional headbutts were unsportsmanlike, not the legal punches. The only person who deserves blame is Ortiz.

The media nearly always sides with African-American athletes, whether they are right or wrong, and they show MUCH less respect for Hispanic and White athletes.

People in the US media have been going on and on about the headbutt from Ortiz. But they say little or nothing about Andre Ward's blatently deliberate headbutts, including the one that ended the fight with Mikkel Kessler!

And the HBO commentators didn't even mention the headbutt from Andre Berto that cut Dejan Zaveck.
That's for your post bro; but I don't see much evidence that the media sides with blacks a majority of the time. But beyond that the media should simply be fair and equal.

I'm with you on that, that's why I say he wanted to find a way out.

B-Hop is outspoken, perhaps more than any other fighter, but the media have nothing but reverance for him and what he has achieved.

America like's its' Negroes to be submissive and docile. Americans actually were threatened by Martin Luther King and let’s not forget how much white America really felt about Muhammad Ali.

Now that we have the backdrop let’s fast forward to this fight. People are calling this a controversy and at the same time stating that Mayweather did nothing wrong. ?????????? Wow so the Black guy has to reach some sort of extra standards that are only visible to white people. Instead of evaluating the situation honestly – ORTIZ WAS LOOKING FOR A WAY OUT!!!!!! Ortiz wanted to quit like he did against Maidana stating “he didn’t deserve to get it like this”. Any boxer who jumps like he’s going for a rebound to head butt his opponent because he’s desperate is looking for a way out. Instead of questioning Ortiz’ toughness – he clearing could have gotten up because it was a knockdown punch not a knockout punch. Ortiz has no heart. By the way America didn’t and doesn’t care about Ortiz they will cheer and support anyone who can beat that Negro.

i only have 1 thought. Give me a ****ing break.

I think you obviously misunderstood the entire point of the initial post. No one is crying or complaining this is a mature conversation about a topic that's a lot bigger than a boxing match. Now you can either open your mind, if you would like to make this country a better place. Or just keep your immature comments to yourself.
