Dunn, you're addressing me, a real fan of boxing, I don't get down like that.

I forget. The NSB does that to you sometimes. Floyd is gonna have to trot his "a" game out for the rest of his career if he does what I think: ortiz, pac, khan/sergio, and finally canelo.

I think that 35 a certain type of skill set fades (physical) but it can be replaced by another (ring smarts/experience).

As time goes on I believe we're going to be seeing more and more fighters like Hopkins and Vitali where they are excelling even at older ages. The hardest thing for people to break are limits that they have set against themselves. Thanks to Foreman, Hopkins, Martinez etc, these limits are slowly going to melt away.

I disagree with the bold wholeheartedly because of the severe decline in actual boxing skills of fighters these days. You have so many fans that just want to see brawling so actual fundamental boxing skills are not being taught to many fighters like they should. With overall decline in boxing knowledge by fans comes a decline in what people are willing to pay for so fighters feel they don't need to develop those skills. Its just like what happened to the NBA most teams kept drafting athletes who could run and jump out the gym but didn't really have fundamental skills and understand basketball so the quality of the product went down. The samething is has been happening in boxing. Look at the comments on this board. A fighter that has fundamental boxing skills and defense with little one punch KO power is considered boring. But a no skill having face first brawler with one punch KO power is considered great.

Floyd has faced better fighters than Ortiz. Don't forget that Ortiz has been knocked down by much lesser fighters than Mayweather. I doubt Mayweather will knock him down but that's just an example of how open Ortiz leaves himself sometimes.

Ortiz is a live opponent but only for the first few rounds, once Mayweather figures out his rhythm it will be game over. Berto and Maidana both got to Ortiz's chin so i expect Mayweather to find it with ease.

if floyd-ortiz will be competetive, it's more about floyd losing his motivation than physical decline. i doubt that though as floyd's big ego is more than enough to give him motivation.

Ortiz has a good chance of beating Floyd, tho i dont expect him too I do think this fight is Floyds most dangerous fight IMO, but Ortiz is gonna hav to KO or TKO Floyd cause he will not outbox him. I think if Ortiz doesnt check out mentally then he has a good chance, but if he starts to get discouraged then its over.

da **** is dis ****? Ortiz doesn't even have a jab to disrupt Floyd's rhythm, or set up his punches. Floyd will counter his flicking jab just like he did to Mosley. Ortiz will be hesitant to throw his jab, as a result of Floyd's snapping right hand coming over it. Thus, Ortiz will not be able to set his punches up, which will allow Floyd to willingly tag him . The fight will be similar to Floyd-Mosley. You take their jab away and they don't have ****. Their ability to set up punches is gone, they can't measure their distance, panic sets in, and Floyd is tagging them at will. My only question is; will Ortiz quit? I am leaning towards him quitting.

I totally agree. I stand by my opinion of how Floyd will still be able to compete competitively against most of the new up and coming Boxers of this generation even at 35-38 years old because of his style.
