But yeah those fights you named are spot on where compubox told the story of the fight

Damn death you are in the rare company of people with common sense here on boxingscene

Too many manny and floyd groupies here and not enough boxing fans

you do know that D4 is one of the biggest Pac d|ck-riders on the site right???

there's a system of boxing in which the winner is determined by the amount of punches landed... it's called the amateurs

But the HBO telecast have put on master classes in swaying the opinions of the masses.

They had people believing that DLH had beaten Floyd Mayweather.

They had people believing that Manny beat JMM in the 3rd match.

They had people believing that Cotto won more than 2 rounds.

While SKY isn't perfect, I find it to be a lot less bias and they actually let a fan enjoy a fight rather than tell the fan what to think as they are seeing it for themselves.

Jim "**** **** ****" Lampley is the worst. He screams about punches that don't land. During Pac/JMM III Lampley was screaming about Pac's footwork as Marquez was landing punches. Emmanuel Steward has no backbone unless it pertains to Lennox. Merchant has alzheimer's. And worst of all, Max Kellerman has become the biggest sellout in the history of HBO commentating.

Kellerman was brought on because he had his own following that appreciated his candid and frank style of calling the shots. He was young, outspoken and most of all he had earned the respect of his followers. Now, Kellerman is just another suit. Max hasn't called it straight in years and the main reason HBO keeps him around is because they believe that his reputation as a young, straight shooter lends credibility to HBO's opinions and propaganda.

The entire HBO telecast reminds me of Axis Sally. Look her up and you'll know exactly what I'm speaking of. The messages were completely different and unrelated, but the goal was exactly the same: To NEVER let the audience make up their own mind.

So while I agree that a 4 round swing is a sign of a very impressional mind, its very possibly when the HBO telecast is set up the way that it is.
And yet when the poll was put up for who won in PAc-Jmm 3, most voted for JMM

Also i think the media had it 48-2 or something like that for Pac, most of which saw the fight live without the HBO bias

Isn't compubox just two old men with a clicking machine who watch fights in slow motion and click every time they think when a punch is landed?

I don't know any people who love the sport of boxing that are in favour of robberies. But not everyone agrees that Compubox, which is just another piece of human interpretation, is the way forward. Pure data just doesn't tell the whole story of a fight.

You prefer the system where two old men get drunk and fall asleep ringside and give out cards which have no reflection of the fight that took place.

It doesn't have to give the whole story, it just has to give fairer results and immune to corruption.

And from what I seen it does.

I wasn't critisizing you, I was just saying it.
I like the idea that someone else said yesterday that they would interview the judges after the fight to explain their decision.

Both are just as open to corruption or gross error. Humans are involved and humans aren't perfect.

The punch stats can be checked by anyone and incorrect results overturned.

Anyone showing gross negligence, gets the sack.
