And you are going entirely too far in the other direction. Mayweather sits comfortably at a 25-50 spot, probably around 40. A win over Pacquiao (and that fight just isn't going to happen) would put him at about 20-25. If he had beaten Cotto and Margarito on top of Pacquiao, he could be at 15-20.

If you want to look at skills, then sure

But I don't look at skills and hypotheticals. I look at resumes. I won't pretend to be smart enough to go through history's fighters and accurately rate them, since its all subjective anyways. I would say he's one of the greatest talents, but not necessarily the greatest boxer/fighter, or even near like some top 25. If he didn't dance around the division's best fighters when he hit his prime, then I would look more favorably.

        RTD 8 Genaro Hernandez
        TKO 2 Angel Manfredy
        TKO 10 Diego Corrales
UD 12, UD 12 Jose Luis Castillo
        RTD 6 Arturo Gatti

With the exception of Castillo he brutalized the other guys.
he's top 100, not top 50 at all.

3 of the above 6 wins were impressive, one was good, the others decent.

im not sure, but atg to me is not necessarily the top 100, which was another point we were debating.

unlike the vast majority of posters on here, i don't make up my mind and fight tooth and nail to defend that its right. my opinions are fluid and change over time.........

sort of the opposite of the majority of the floyd/pac fans on this site.

Who did Floyd duck in his prime?
He beat all the best super featherweights in spectacular fashion

Fought the best lightweight in the world in 2 tough fights(I had the first fight as a draw second fight as a win for Floyd),

Then was ducked by Kostya at 140 so he whooped the 2nd best fighter at 140(Gatti).

Floyd only ducked guys while at welterweight when he was inactive an not in his prime.

Fair enough we've all got our own definition of 'great', I can respect that, I think there are probably over 100 ATGs, and I estimate (just an estimate) that if I made a list Floyd would probably just make the top 100.

after our last discussion (while I was sick on my freakin valentines getaway at the hotel) i did a little research on that topic and I think he sneaks in the top 100 as well.
