Martinez is the truth and like I've always said if PBF doesn't accept his challenge Martinez would be P4P #1. MANNY NEVER WAS!!!!!!! and has shown his true identity by immediately turning down the fight. Marquez would fight Martinez before Manny would and to me that says it all. There is no excuse for a man that just fought @ 154 to not fight Martinez there!!!!!!!!!!!

I always said on here that Martinez would knock Pac's head off his shoulders. I would be up in the air about a fight with Floyd but think I would lean towards Martinez. He can do it all and has power to back up his skills.

Fact of the matter is that Floyd, Pac, Margarito and Cotto all fought at 154 and won titles (except for Margarito) so there should be no excuses as to why they can't fight Sergio Martinez. Sounds like posters on here are more worried about Martinez fighting their guys then them and the trainers. Alot of you sound like B!TCHES.
Agreed... If the man can make the weight... The fight MUST be made... Anyone who thinks otherwise is delusional or making excuses (*Cough, Pacman*).... I remember back in the day reading articles where Bob even contemplated pitting Manny against Paul Williams who is ridiculously bigger than Margarito or Sergio.... BUT NOW SERGIO IS WAYYYYYYYY TO BIG???? ROFL... After Shane...IF he wins... BOB HAS RUN OUT OF EXCUSES NOT TO MAKE PACMAN FIGHT FLOYD OR MARTINEZ... NO OTHER FIGHT EXISTS..

Michael Marley made a great point on Boxing Truth last year when he asked the question

"Did Marvin Halger say 'No, I won't fight Tommy Hearns, he's too tall?" No, he took the fight and knocked Hearns out."
I want to see Pacquiao was Martinez and hopefully it will happen next year. However if people are gonna bash those smaller guys for not taking on Martinez what about Martinez saying he is too small for those guys at 168?

168 would be his fourth weight class. Floyd went up to his
5th division to get a title, Pacquiao his 7th division to get a title, so why can't Martinez hop another to get his? Martinez supporters use the same, "he's too small" excuse yet bash *******s and *****s when they do the same.

In all fairness neither Floyd, Manny or Cotto turned down this fight and until they do, you cant claim any of those guys are ducking him.

Sergio Martinez is a great fighter! There's no denying that...
He may be the Future P4P King~~~

It will not take one or two years to be #1 P4P...
It will take more than that!

The way I see him achieving his goal is just by doing what his done lately and that is WIN against tough compitition! And hope for the best that fans will recognize him!

Fighting smaller guys won't help his cause!!!
Fans knows that if you beat a small guy there's nothing special about that!
You're suppose to beat small guys...

Obviously, calling out Pac/Mayweather or even Cotto is just about the Payday! He knows these are the CASH COW in Boxing...

And there's nothing wrong with that! Everybody wants the Payday!

Now if he's really serious about these fights, knowing that he's 1 or 2 Divisions above where these guys are fighting, he needs to sacrifice and that is by going to go down the weight where these guys are fighting!

Not that call out guys to fight at weight they've never fought before!

            As a boxing fanatic...

            Sergio Martinez road to greatness:

            160 lb:
            Kirkland & Pirog

            168 lb:
            Ward, Kessler, Abraham, Froch, Bute

But I like the idea Pac-Martinez down the road... I like to see where Pac hits the WALL!
But it has to be after Pac Maywether...

We don't have to ruin the fight of the century!

Fwiw Martinez will get one of these guys. Both Cotto and Manny are warriors who don't run from challenges so I doubt they will start with Sergio if that's the fight that makes the most sense.

Cotto vs Margarito is a fight that needs to happen and makes the most sense right now, so let us have this discussion after that fight.

Great a Pac fan who isnt scared to see him face Martinez, But why are you all implying that Martinez should go to 168? WHY? He only has 2/3 fights at 160, He can still make 154 so why telling him to move? Its like you guys are scared indirectly..

quit being a money grubbing ***** sergio. you are NOT a welterweight, stop trying to fight small welterweights like cotto, and lightweights like manny. FIGHT BUTE! go talk to showtime, im sure they will pay you a **** load of money to fight bute next. Stop being a punk ass *****, though. Call out Jean Pascal - because that is about the same difference in size as you possess over manny and cotto.

I honestly don't think Martinez would make any excuses on fighting anyone (except if the money ain't right) which he earned the right to. Ironically the people who made excuses about being too small was Pacquiao's team. I find it funny considering all of their weight demands. I think Martinez said Pac was too small but would fight Floyd. After Mosely, a commentator asked Floyd about a possible Martinez fight and he said it was possible. Pac had Martinez's title by fighting a non ranked fighter (Pac could have fought Martinez for it but he didn't). Same as Cotto fighting Jennings for Paul Williams vacated title. Fact of the matter is that Top Rank fighters are the most protected in the sport. Martinez is the P4P#1 in my opinion. Dude beat a bigger champion (Pavlik), ranked fighter who was on a winning streak that never been KO'd(Williams) and an undefeated prime champion ( Dzinziruk) and he TKO'd him. Martinez is top dog and you will see when he gets put over Floyd and Pac.
