Why is martinez going down to look for fighters?

Seems to be all he wants to do is fight a big name to get a big following

He has targeted Pac, Floyd and Cotto--the 3 biggest draws in boxing
margarito is about his size bro... I wonder why he doesn't want to fight Marg. I am quite certain margarito will fight him at any weight.

Real classy, the middleweight champion calling out welterweights. In no way is Pacquiao obligated to face Sergio Martinez, and neither is Floyd. Let's say he did beat Martinez, would people want him to fight Andre Ward or Carl Froch next?

I understand what you're saying, but, if some else is calling themselves pound for pound champions(Mayweather and Pac man) then prove it. after all, that's what pound for pound means "pound for pound refers to who the best fighter is regardless of weight class." Sergio wants to be recognized as the PFP champ, that's why hes going after those fighters.

But then again, fat chance of that, because when has Manny ever fought a top fighter, who was on top of his game?
Hurts doesn't it; being a nobody? People like you must have some serious issues in their life, to spend every waking second thinking of spurious ways to undermine Pacquiao. The latests way is to suggest he's ducking the middleweight champion. Why not say he's ducking Lucian Bute, too? There, I've given you some new material.

To do is to live, to write is to die. You nobodies posting **** on a forum doesn't make any difference to anything. Having "da respecz" of forum idiots has to be the most dubious of accolades. It's hilarious seeing the way you bitter clowns respond to every passing comment with such vitriol. You love having someone to hate, it gives your life meaning.

Where have all the boxing fans gone?

Ridiculous logic. Pound for pound means: If all fighters were the same size, who would be the best. By your logic, there should be no weight classes. Why not call for Pacquiao to fight David Haye? Martinez should not be calling out welterweights - end of story.

Following your line of thinking, sir... then, only heavyweights can qualify as P4P champs. They can easily fight and beat lower class weight fighters down to 106. However, the lighter weights can't win against them...

Your logic is a little flawed, sir.

I also dont blame Sergio for taunting and trying to get a fight w/ Pac now, even if it contradicts the words he said in his previous interview that Pac is too small for him. I guess his advisers is doing their job.

Oh well, i want to see how this match-up will play out.

It's more than a little flawed. But most of these kids only come on here to mutually jerk off over who hates certain fighters the most. It's hardly surprising they don't know much about the sport.

I was under the impression that it meant ranking fighters regardless of weight class.
