FACT: If Manny Pacquiao is a genuine JMW champion, then he is ducking Sergio Martinez. If Manny Pacquiao is not a genuine JMW champion, then he should not be required to fight Sergio Martinez.

i like martinez as a fighter but this talk about going down in weight and chosing who he wants to fight is dumb.you don't control anything at 154 and below .why don't you talk about how far you can go up in weight.you had a spectacular win over williams but you don't control anything so shut up.

Martinez would make more than that if Margarito made 7 million to fight Pacquiao. Margarito would have made only about 3-4 million but the ppv sold pretty good and his payday went up. But I do agree with the fact that its not just about the money but fighting the p4p number 1 fighter in the world aswell.

Margarito has a huge Mexican following, so of course he's a bigger draw than Martinez. Arum and HBO know the market. If Martinez' biggest purse was say 900K (which I doubt), HBO & Arum would probably offer him no more than 1.5 million to fight Pacquiao. Fans would consider it a low ball, but DiBella can't prove that Martinez is now worth 3-4 million against Pacquiao strictly after the second Williams fight. Martinez' value definitely went up after the KO win, but it's impossible to measure it when they don't know how big his fanbase is now. So in the end, Martinez is only as big as his last payday. Believe it or not when Floyd fought Gatti, it was labeled "Gatti vs. Mayweather", not the other way around.
