Paul will will win easily this time

He didn't trained for a lefty the first time, just like it happened with quintana (another lefty). And, what happened next? ooppppssssss. P william is the last real deal in the sport. That's why Gayweather, cotto, moesley, berto, etc, etc , etc (very many etcs) are avoiding him. nitramzaid@hotmail.com

He's not a young man, he's what, 35 or 36? His stamina is an issue and if he fades in the middle again, it will be another closely contested fight.

      Again...

Manny Pacquiao-Antonio Margarito? Arum says never...

And he never said it won't happen this time, he just said he wants to see how Manny does against a much bigger opponent first in Margarito (whom he said he would never allow to fight Pac just last year).

Since we already know Paul is easy to hit and southpaws can tag him at will, it will just come down to how Pac looks fighting against an active pressure fighter with great stamina who dwarfs him.

If Pacquiao-Margarito looks like Pacquiao-DLH, then might as well put Pacquiao-Williams on your calendar 2011 on May 1st
it doesn't have anything to do with how pac looks against the bigger man. IMO, and all along what everyone thinks, arum is greedy, period. he'll do a pac ppv with clottey, that only sells 700k, b/c he promotes both fighters, so all the money stays in house.

arum is NOT going to promote a pac ppv, versus an outside fighter, that will only do about 600K, AND he'll have to split the proceeds with another promoter.

despite what arum says, as long as pacquiao has other TOP RANK options available, we won't be seeing williams-pacquiao.

if that fight is ever signed and sealed, i'll personally log on and deliver 3 million pts. to you.

neither had a full camp to prepare for one another, but williams was in camp preparing to fight somebody, before the martinez fight came up. martinez was on vacation, preparing to fight nobody, and took the fight on short notice, and didn't have a full camp to get into "fight shape." williams was at least in fight shape, which IMO proved the difference in the fight.

martinez clearly tired, from like halfway-on....and lost the fight, not b/c williams was doing the most damage, which he wasn't, but b/c williams was busier. expect sergio to be in tip-top shape this time, especially since he has had to chase williams down, and HBO had to "hold a gun" to williams's head to do the rematch.....

He did it a bunch of times when Pac fought GBP fighters back when he was pulling in 300-400K, Just last year he fought Hatton who wasn't a TR fighter. Pacquiao-Williams will do better than that fight and Pacquiao/Top Rank will get a larger cut than they did against Hatton.

There are no TR fighters available for May. Cotto-Chavez in the Spring kills any possibility that Manny fights in house next. Notice how all of the fighters Arum mentioned are not in his stable.

Tell me what Top Rank options Manny has for May?

Sig it and make sure those points are ready for delivery around January when the fight is announced.

hatton was the 3rd or 4th biggest draw in boxing at the time, and that fight did what, 850-900K?

williams is not a draw, can't sellout his own fights, and has NEVER EVER even been on a PPV UNDERCARD before. no way that fight beats pacquiao-clottey, let alone pacquiao-hatton.

keep in mind, pacquiao-cotto only did 1.2, you think pacquiao-williams does 900K??? especially if williams loses next month?

no need to sig, if hell freezes over and the fight gets, made, i'll gladly donate the points.

pacquiao fights cotto again, before he fights williams.

I'd give Pacquiao more credit if he fought a guy like Paul Williams instead of guys like Berto, the Bradley-Alexander winner, or Shane Mosley. But if Williams were to beat Pacquiao, he wouldn't get that much credit from me because of the height difference. It's a win-win no lose situation for Pacquiao and a lose-lose situation for Williams from the fans' perspective.

Boxing doesnt have height classes and Williams doesnt use his height anyway.

                No excuse really.

Boxing has WEIGHT CLasses , not height classes

Only 1.2 mil? It's rare for PPV to reach 500K let alone 1 mil. Clottey had never been in a PPV either, 99% of the people who bought the fight had never heard of him, and he was coming off a loss. No real promotions, no 24/7, only Pacquiao to sell the fight and it did 700K. Really all they would have to do to sell the fight is put pics of their face off in the media, that disparity in size alone will draw in tons of casual fans (as well as boxing fans). Then they can stage the fight in another stadium, like the Meadowlands since Paul is a East Coast guy. Get another 50K fans (If a Clottey fight can draw that, Williams probably does more) and AT LEAST 900K w/ a 24/7... but I see it doing 1.2 mil.

Plus Pac would be entitled to a 70-30 split, probably more but that seems reasonable. If the guaranteed pot is $20 mil, Pac gets $14 and Paul gets $6 before PPV shares and that's BY FAR the biggest pay day of Paul's career, no way he turns that down.

Paul might end up being a betting favorite which adds much interest/intrigue/attention to the matchup. If Pacquiao loses, it would be expected and wouldn't hurt his legacy in the least- like Duran-Hearns. If Williams loses, it will be to an ATG and current PPV king so not a big deal plus it will increase his exposure and drawing ability by 1000%, especially if it's a war. If he wins he becomes a PPV commodity and probably ranked #1 Pound for Pound.

AND for the fans- it promises to be an action-packed slugfest.

                    Everyone wins in that scenario.

HBO wouldn't even let Paul Williams move down to 147, so why would anything be different in the aftermath of the Martinez rematch?
