they need to drop the "BS" about the title being on the line when neither has earned the chance. because otherwise at 150 it's a good fight but it's bull**** if a title is on the line!

Comments Thread For: Time For Manny Pacquiao To Stop Cheating History

The comment was peculiar considering that Pacquiao - for all of his charm, humility and in-ring greatness - has proven in recent years to be a bear to deal with the negotiating table. Deals to face Cotto, Ricky Hatton, Oscar De La Hoya all dragged on until the last minute, with all three fights in limbo at one point to another before being finalized. - Jake Donovan
Last week - This is exactly, almost word for word, what I said to Makavelli, Clayton Bigsby and a few other Pac fans who were seriously arguing against it with me.
It's no secret, Pacquiao is a difficult little man to deal with at the negotiating table.

I just don`t like the idea of two fighters, who both did nothing in the weight class, fighting for the championship below the weight-class limit... Catch-weight thing might be ok in the non-title fight, but c`mon 150 is closer to ww than jmw...
And also... Heavyweights sometimes fight guys 50-100 lbs heavier than themselves... I didn`t hear much cry-babying and catch-weight demanding from them...

So, instead of the tune ups we have a catch weight big deal... Margs is a 147 pounder anyway he could have made him come down there. Fight night Pac will be 148-150 and Margarito will be 158 - 163 thats a big enough difference and that is why you have a catch weight to prevent a major weight difference on fight night.
If Pac got caught with his **** in another mans ass they would still find a way to rationalize him being straight.
And STILL dont know **** about boxing.

Are they all cheaters too? bigger guys usually win in a catchweight fight
Julio Cesar Chavez vs Pernell Whitaker (145 catch-weight for W.W title)
Jimmy McLarnin vs Pancho Villa (114 catchweight but McLarnin came in overweight at 122)
Joe Gans vs Joe Walcott (138 pound catchweight)
Henry Maske vs ****** Hill (190 catchweight)
Bernard Hopkins vs Oscar De La hoya (158 catchweight)
Jose Luis Castillo vs Diego Corrales (both fighters agreed to make 135 but no one can weigh more than 147 on fight night)
Fernando Vargas vs Ricardo Mayorga (162 catchweight)
Roy Jones Jr. vs Felix Trinidad (170 catchweight)
Miguel Cotto vs Manny Pacquiao (145 catchweight)
Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs Juan Manuel Marquez (144 catchweight, Mayweather came in overwheight at 146) (This is a non title bout but I added it anyways because prior to retirement, Floyd was the lineal W.W champ)
Paulie Ayala vs Johnny Tapia (124 catchweight)
Terry Norris vs Meldrick Taylor (150 1/2 catchweight)
Henry Armstrong vs Law Jenkis (140 catchweight, for a Welterweight Bout! )
Emile Griffith vs Dave Charnley (148 catchweight)
Sugar Ray Leonard vs Donny Lalonde (168 catchweight)
