But for now, I'll leave you off with the fact that I have spoken out MANY times on the bull**** Leonard pulled with the Lalonde fight, as has several million others. Sorry, but you're the one who needs to brush up on boxing history.
leonard, BTW, was still promoted by arum when he pulled this crap. It was disgraceful but anything to help leonard achieve a dubious goal and help the organizations get more in sanctioning fees.

There is a thing called weight classes guys. Just because an agreement is made for a fighter to fight at a lighter weight than the actual limit of the weightclass, doesnt mean it shouldnt be a title fight as long as both fighters are fighting within the weightclass bracket.
You just have exposed your whole argument. LMW is 147- 154. This means the fighter can weigh 154 pounds or less if he chooses...not that there should be a stipulation saying he should way 150 or less...imposing a limit is in effect creating a new Weightclass....

Since when? did greatest boxers like Ali, Duran, Hagler, leonard and even Robinson limits their opponent to the maximum weight required on a specific divisions ? If you want to come 150lbs. weighting time, so be it but dont limit your opponent to the maximum allowed. I guess thats the fact being questioned here. Its fine, if once, but over and over is questionable specially if your rooting for title and history.

Give the Man a break!!! He's a MIDGET Fighting Goliath...
And another thing, How Many Times did Pacquiao fought at Catchweight???
            Just once right (against Cotto)?

I understand though the sentiment of the author... There are many choices at Welterweight at the moment... You have Berto, Bradley, and even Paul Williams who brags that he can fight Pac at 147 lb without problem~~~

I don't understand why the author is very hard on the PacMan...
Pac's Best Fighting Weight is at 140 lb... But he fights against Naturally Biggers Guys which he often gives up a substantial physical edge to his opponents!!!

Sometimes you can Blame Pac for setting a Very High Bar on Himself!!!

Sometimes FAN think that Pac at 147 lb fighting a 154 lb opponent is in the SAME LEVEL PLAYING FIELD..............

Exactly, let both fighters come in at whatever weight they want as long as its under 154 lbs.

I'm agreeable for Pac fighting Margo at the scale of 150 lbs only for the sake of entertainment.

But if team Pac insists on fighting Margo at 150 lbs with a 154 lb belt title on the line just in order for Pac to reach that 8 weight division milestone.. Then that is just wack!! Fools of the highest caliber would only defend Pac for this kind of stunt.

The whole article says it all. I read it and wept.

So go back to 140 and fight tim bradley if that is your best weight. Otherwise, fight at the max weight of the division.

if its a thing called weight classes
