Even though he didn't put on a good showing at all against Pac, he did what he normally does in that fight and Pac's output just made it seem like alot less.

I hope to see Clottey back in the ring even if he isn't elite fighter material, maybe against Joel Julio or someone like that.

Clottey......**** off. What is it. First you had the ****s now it's this next it will be that. Pac beat your ass. Bottom line. If you can't get up for this fight and stay focused than what are you fighting for in the first place.

damn he said he didnt even want to go in the ring, wtf kinda mentality is that to have moments before your biggest fight and the biggest check you will ever get in your life ? damn clottey made matters even worse with this interview, i thought he quit while in the ring, but he just confirmed he threw in the towel from the locker room.

i thought he beat cotto but got robbed cuz he was in puerto rican heaven, there was no way in hell he wouldve gotten that decision. and he was easily crushing margarito until his right hand got injured, and he battered zab judah, so clottey is not a bum at all, i think he should get back in the ring asap to get his confidence back, maybe a margarito rematch, but i doubt bob arum is even thinking about him after his last performance.

Unlike most posters on this site who "pose" as boxing fans, I actually like watching Clottey fight. He just wasn't himself vs Pacquiao. I don't give a fuck about that.

Hopefully we get to see him fight in September.
You wouldn't know a good fighter if he punched you in the face.

Anyone who respects Clottey after that performance has very little in the way of boxing knowledge.

Clottey was paid extremely well to get his career back-on-track by showing up to spar with Manny, in order to make Manny look good.

              Give yourself an uppercut.

Joshua Clottey is a disgrace to boxing, and I will never watch him again..... and Bob Arum is an old master at this game, boxing will be better off the day that he retires/dies.

Clottey gave Pacquiao his props. He basically said Pacquiao was able to counter his shots all night and that Pacquiao was able to throw from many different angles.

What do you want him to say?? "Pacquiao is God and I got my ass whooped"??

No. Cause that didn't happen. Pacquiao only managed to land 20% of his punches.

Now learn how to read properly next time.
                Well, I read the interview.....

It was entitled " Clottey breaks silence..... "

And it quoted Clottey as saying this.....

" I don't know how to explain..... I really don't understand what happened to me in that fight..... I just think it was one of those things..... I don't know what happened..... I knew I could hurt him when I threw my power shots..... I didn't feel like his punches really hurt me..... I felt OK after..... there are so many reasons the fight happened the way it did "

It was a load of dribble from Clottey......

What I saw in that fight was an astonishingly un-interested performance, and what I read in that article, was a couple of unbelievably bizarre excuses..... which he followed up by saying.....
" I love big fights..... any fight they have for me, I am ready to take....."

Clottey even stated that Manny counter-punched him during that fight.....

Ummmm..... BULL****..... when did that happen ?

When Clottey opened up on Manny, Pac would cover up big-time, and then when Clottey stopped punching and put his gloves back up, Manny would come forward and start to pummel Clottey again.

What a load of rubbish those bull**** excuses were.....

Clottey should be ashamed of himself for selling us out, which he may well be..... "I just want to tell my fans that I am really really sorry with what happened in my last fight"..... and you should give yourself an uppercut for letting CLottey piss in your pocket and then tell you it's raining.

                  Agreed.

He was paid very well, to do as little as possible.

It was a fill-in fight, arranged at very short notice, designed to promote Manny, and raise his stock for the second round of Mayweather negotiations.

Uncle Bob was never going to let Clottey win that fight, and Josh did exactly what he was told.

Clottey has very little in the way of ring generalship, but what he does have is a fighters mind-set. There are two things that Joshua Clottey knows a lot about....
                  * can I hit Manny?
                  * if I do hit him, can I hurt Manny?

Well..... I watched Clottey connect with a two punch combo in round 2, which IMMEDIATELY made Manny BACK THE **** UP with HUGE respect for Clottey's power..... only to see Clottey apparently unaware of the fact.

Then I watched Clottey connect with a punch almost EVERYTIME he opened up..... and when he did, they were the only times during the fight that Manny actually stopped punching him in the face..... only to see Clottey apparently unaware of the fact.

BUT..... when I saw, in round 6 I think it was, where Clottey had Manny backed up on the ropes, covering up, obviously feeling the effects of a rare successful assault..... only to watch Clottey back up to the middle of the ring and reset to wait for Manny.....

..... it looked like those two guys had sparred together quite a bit recently.

Something stinks about that fight..... and it wasn't just Clottey.

                    You guys are fake.

You will turn on a fighter because he just wasn't able to perform on the biggest night of his life.
                    WRONG !!

He was able to perform, he just CHOSE not to..... for some reason.

He hit Manny at will, and when he did he backed Manny up.

He chose not to, because he couldn't see what was coming back at him. The times that Clottey did connect on Pac had more to do with Pac than Clottey.Pac was trying to get him to open up so he stood still and let Clottey hit him, immediately coming back with multiple punches only to have Clottey go into a shell again.
