Strange, I don’t recall the same warnings for mayweather, jones, or Pacquiao. Seems to be a concerted effort to protect this fighter from losing

You don’t remember because you are a casual. Plenty of people thought Roy was crazy going to heavyweight. That’s why it was a big deal when he beat Ruiz.

Because Pacquiao was never a true flyweight like Inoue. Pacquiao was just 15 year old impoverished kid. The moment he started eating good Pacquiao had to jump 3 weightclasses because he could make weight anymore.

Why are people who are in boxing still hang up on Nery knockdown and dohney fight. The knockdown against Nery was just feet entanglement. Nery himself said the Knockdown wasn't real as he stopped attacking cause he realized Inoue wasn't hurt. As you saw inoue dominated nery. And Inoue himself said he wasn't going for a early stoppage against dohney, because he wanted to get more rounds in to try different things and learn about himself more. And the moment he turned up a gear Inoue got the stoppage. Also Inoue wasn't happy with the stoppage as he wanted to get more rounds in.

Not to mention people also said Inoue was declining before Fulton fight cause he went 11 rounds with Paul Butler. And they also said the 2nd donaire fight could be close because Inoue went 8 rounds with Dipaen. But were shocked when Inoue dominated both Fulton and Donaire. Do these idiot not understand that Inoue is letting those lesser fights go longer on purpose, so he can improve and perform better in big fights.

It's not like Nery is Sunny Edwards or someone like that. Nery can punch. Anyone can get knocked down, it's what happens after you get up that matters.

Naoya Inoue is a special talent no matter what direction people try to force your career too, he's winning and that's what matter if you never go up again that doesn't mean your not exceptional, it's a choice you made. He can fight, he can box, and he can punch so his talent is proven, we thought Stevie Fulton would give him a run however he waved the flag as well! The funny thing is Fulton was receiving high praise for his accomplishments so is it because he's an American or what!

but you did hear about Loma fighting at too high of a weight, and damaging his legacy. Weight jumping isn't for everybody. I guess Marvin Hagler was being protected from losing by not going up in weight? Is Inoue not a great fighter? Why should he not recognize a ceiling for his frame? Why should he immediately jump to the next weight class after clearing the previous one out? Why shouldn't he age out Tank like Tank did Loma? That seems to be the guy people who don't like Inoue want to see him fight, right? Why shouldn't Inoue take his time moving up, and wait until Tank is at a disadvantage? And honestly, Roy Jones is a bad example. He did not fight the top heavyweight. He fought the one he knew he could beat.

There is a term in sports called being a Unicorn. It means you are the exception to the rule. Pacquiao was a Unicorn. Inoue is not Pacquiao and there is no logical reason to compare them. Why not just acknowledge that what he's accomplished is fantastic and that as is the case with 99.9999 percent of boxers there are limits to how many weight classes they can jump.
