I'd rather see Ginger take on Benavidez but would rather see Bud get the big payday.... Ginger vs Benavidez would be a more exciting fight in my opinion. Would have been nice to have seen Bud unify 154...

Devin should have taken the Martin fight and rematched Ryan after the suspension. He's a better boxer and would more than likely outbox him. Devin showed a lot of courage finishing the fight on his feet and would have garnered sympathy and support due to Ryan's failed test and garbage mouth. But instead...Last edited by LarryMerchant'sBottle; Today, 12:58 AM.

That's not how it works though! By law the judge has to disregard his or her personal opinion on how he or she may view the legalities of the case. Upon expert testimony he or she will learn if all Peds have the same results? Did the the ostarine that was found in Ryan's system cause the damage that...billeau2 likes this.

Well he was able to keep the title, but lost it when he didn't want to defend it against Martin. Arum won the purse bid for something like $2.5 million but Devin didn't think the money was enough to defend it so the WBC stripped him of the tittle......OnePunch likes this.

That's the purpose of calling experts to the stand and showing video footage of what Ryan was capable of before his fight with Haney. Haney finished the fight on his feet while Ryan was on Osterine. Most of Ryan's opponents didn't finish the fight on their feet when they faced Ryan, thus proving that...

I would imagine that if it does go to trial, the witnesses called to testify will be the likes of promoters, managers, past and current fighters, trainers, doctors and those that are qualified to know how quick and powerful Ryan's left hook was or was not prior to him fighting Haney.
Did...Smash likes this.

I wouldn't say quite a lot, maybe a few, but the mindset of boxers is quite different now than it once was. Boxers now a days worry more about staying undefeated than taking on the toughest challengers.
A fighter suing a promoter or a manager is one thing. If Haney were to be suing Ryan...Smash likes this.

Rumor has it that the attorneys that both Devin and Ryan hired, post here under alt names....wrecksracer BrankoB like this.

Being furious for getting pummeled by your opponent while testing positive for Osterine is normal. Most boxers would demand a rematch, demand a reversal of the loss and have the opponent closely monitored up until fight night. Filing a law suit for battery is something I don't think most boxers would...

Not sure, but Canelo's guarantee for the fight was $40 million, that's not including the PPV upsales......

It's obvious that many of today's fighters aren't like the fighters of yesteryear. Fighters of the past would almost always agree to the amount they were offered. Devin Haney, turned down the purse bid from Arum to fight Martin because he didn't feel it was enough. Crawford only wants to fight Canelo...BrankoB likes this.

I can understand your reasoning, but I personally wouldn't lower my pay that I had originally agreed to in contract. For all we know, Boots' might have pushed Eddie and Eddie might have asked Boots' "We taking the extra $500k off your pay"? To which Boots might have said "no, not off...

Yes another $500k would have secured the fight. That's on Eddie though. As a fight fan I would have liked for Eddie to cough up $500k, but I'm just the fight fan, I'm not the one shelling out the dough...
Some argue that Norman Jr should have taken the $1.7 because that's way more than...Last edited by LarryMerchant'sBottle; 12-12-2024, 01:51 PM.

Now you're just making things up! Go ahead and review my posts, you won't find anyone of my posts claiming that. What I did state was that Eddie is the one that can offer money, he's the promoter. Ennis can only control the money he accepts to fight which would be stipulated in the contract he has with...

I want to commend you for being a reasonable fight fan and not a hater or a nut rider. You are obviously a fan of Ramirez and of the same Nationality and approached the conversation respectfully without bias. Wish more posters were like you, instead we get lots of hate or excuses at all cost because...

I don't know what his guarantee was with Showtime or if he had a guarantee with Showtime. I simply stated that Boots wasn't responsible for the fight with Norman Jr not materializing. You felt that Norman Jr should receive 50/50. I disagreed and explained why Norman Jr should't get paid the same. I...
