Comments Thread For: Caleb Plant might yet become a boxing icon of the modern era

After appearing hurt in the second round and being dropped in the fourth, Plant rallied back, not just to win, but to secure an emphatic stoppage.

"He might not have Arturo Gatti's brawler style, but Plant’s resilience and charisma have won over his own set of diehards. He’s one of those guys whose attitude bleeds through the screen, and fight fans can’t get enough."

          Sure.

Let’s wait until he starts defeating the elite talents of his division first before coronating him. He did what he was supposed to do against a very limited but game, unknown and overmatched opponent.

It’s easy to look like a flashy show off against limited opposition. If he really wants to become this legend and all-time great; Then let him start by moving up in weight to 175 in fighting the Bivols Beterbievs and the David Morrell of the world.

I dont mind seeing Canelo Plant 2 if Canelo is going to keep on fighting nobodies.

Good article. Plant is must see boxing these days. He does indeed have charisma and swagger and he is NEVER in a boring fight. I hope he gets right back into the ring, hell I hope he and McCumby share a free card on Amazon soon. Both of them are good characters and boxing needs its characters. Ward and Gatti were not the top fighters when they fought but when they did, it stole the decade let alone the show.
