Who knew foul-mouthed hubris would be acclaimed by sportswriters as something admirable?

But even that doesn’t matter. Plant won’t rise in level until he can win the big ones. There are lots of guys who can beat everybody but the champ, which is the space Plant occupies right now.

My sons (both boxers) really like Caleb Plants style/attitude for some reason. Personally I can't stand him.

No difference whatsoever. Defense is still dog **** and he's got a weak chin.

And truthfully canelo didn't even take him seriously. Half assed his training camp. Was spending time doing golf tournaments and showing up drunk at parties. The canelo that fought Mungia and berlanga knocks plant out in under 6 rounds. Nasty.
First Canelo didn't take Berlanga seriously because he hand picked Berlanga to lose, the same way an employer hires an employee to further the employers success.

Yes, Plant was rocked by a guy with fast hands, a good chin and power and so would everyone else but what they do next is all that counts and Plant made adjustments knocked him out. Styles make fights and with a game plan the latest version of Calib Plant would be a much, much closer fight.

I swear the writers are on some serious drugs. Say what???? An icon? Plant has charisma?

Plant hasn't yet beaten a single world class opponent. I don't see him ever doing so. He's a decent fringe level fighter who's OK to watch. That's it.

Plant is nowhere near to being a HOF'er. Who did he ever beat?

He definitely isn't a bum. He's a decent fringe guy. But that's about as far as he'll get. This "Icon" nonsense is just that. Complete nonsense. But i got a good laugh out of the writer and some of the comments.

Sure not “elite” which mind you is less than 1% of all boxers. If we used that as the measuring stick boxing would be more nonexistent than it is today. But very limited? You use that term to degrade the skills Plant. McCumby was 127-11 as an amateur and was ranked top 10 in all 3 major orgs. Talented fighter who is skilled but just wasn’t brought up as well as he could have been.

and they had all of wilders opponents ranked in the top 10. means nothing. in fact its done on purpose so wilder could have easy fights
