At least when money Mayweather cherried the last part of his career he didn't hold the belts hostage whilst fighting gimmies.
I didn't mind Canelo upto Bivol, not letting Bivol come down in weight to challenge for the SM belts was wrong & on top of that no Benavidez either.

If your a fan of boxing, do not pay for this, I bet the card's garbage.

Came here to say this, not just w/ Canelo either , boxing cards in general have been delayed for UFC… Guessing Canelo fight will start at damn near 1 AM or later …

All I know is I'll def pick the UFC over Canelo ,the fact that they will stage a mexican independence special event at the sphere is very special and im sure it'll be an event for the ages, I'll watch Bernalgas getting whipped on the next day replay no problem with that.

On CInco de Mayo weekend, Alvarez fought Munguia, a fellow Mexican. The event reportedly sold only 500k PPVs. It will be interesting to see how he does on Mexican Independance day, when he fights over-hyped Puerto Rican Berlanga, who has already been exposed as mediocre. Add a UFC card at the LV Dome to that, and a potential flop is in the making.

What good is keeping the date if you aren’t fighting someone fans will choose over MMA?

It’s already bad enough that Canelo waits for MMA main events to be finished before he fights.

Who wants to wait until 1230 or 100 on the East Coast to see Canelo v a Berlanga level opponent?

Do you not remember when Canelo sat in his locker room for an extra hour while a UFC card was literally played on the big screens in the arena so his own crowd could watch Diaz/Masvidal first? they are absolutely able to cut into Canelos drawing power when they go head to head, especially if its an underwhelming fight like this.
Lol Boxing was being nice. MMA doesn't compete with Boxings top stars dude. It just doesnt.

You are being pretty naive imo. This aint the 90s. It can and does do exactly that. Conor McGregor has like 5 PPV fights that have done more buys than any of Canelos fights, and his fight with Floyd did like twice the buys that Canelo/Floyd did. Hes the biggest star in combat sports in a post Floyd/Pac world.

Back in 2021 the UFC did 700k vs 800k buys going head to head with Canelo/Plant too, and that was a card where the biggest name on there was maybe the 4th biggest star in the UFC. I'd argue Canelo/Plant was a much bigger fight than Canelo/Berlanga at that time as well. Canelos stock has dropped since then.

Edit: LOL since I put this they announced the main and co-main for that UFC card and tbh they ****ed up. It wouldnt have been hard at all for them to outdraw Canelo/Berlanga but this aint the one.

Lol what? Pricing is different dude. Boxing will always be more superior than MMA.

Nothing to see. The ginger wins a lopsided decision or late ko.

UFC PPVs are $80, Canelo PPVs are $90, this Bud PPV coming up is $80. Not much of a difference.

As for the superior thing, I mean...thats a whole different argument and impossible to really say definitively because theres so many factors and an element of subjective taste to it. MMA outshines boxing in a LOT of areas though tbh. Both in terms of how the UFC is run and the MMA ruleset itself.
