Comments Thread For: Canelo Alvarez keeps his date regardless of UFC and opponent

Does Berlanga hit harder than GGG? It would be a BIG upset if he hurts Canelo, but Canelo has defense and offense. We will see.

If Canelo would of taken on Benavides, UFC would of backed off but since Canelo insists on taking on these dudes that don't deserve it, the UFC will affect this fight bottom line, especially if it's a Mexican driven UFC, I don't watch it, so IDK what Mexican stars the UFC has. And I understand the Mexican vs Puerto Rico rivalry is big but Berlanga is not that dude...

He going to hit Berlanga so hard. When he wakes up he will immediately start doing push-ups.

UFC is nothing to worry about, it's a non-factor to a Canelo event on Sept fight week.

I'd argue that the UFC is foolish for putting this on the same weekend as the Canelo fight when they could have done it before or right after.

They havent announced any of the bigger fights for that UFC yet, but it wouldnt take much to really hurt Canelo/Berlanga tbh. Its got the gimmick of being at the sphere too.

Hit harder than Ggg? That’s a joke right? Berlanga power is such a hype-job! Has one ko in three years. And out of the last six cans that were lined up for him to continue his bogus ko streak, 5 of the bums had been previously ko’d multiple times but went the distance!! Canelo will walk right through the extremely overrated Berlanga.

berlanga deserved a draw at best against steve rolls, a guy that golovkin blasted out in 4 rounds a few years prior. don't buy into the boxing media trying to hype this fight. this match-up is complete garbage. i wouldn't even pick berlanga to beat guys like gabe rosado or shane mosley jr....this fight is WEAK.

the post above me says that berlanga is extremely overrated. that's not true, nobody rates that guy. this fight is on par with the time canelo fought avni yildrim

Boxing isn't going to move off of a UFC date, especially with a top dog on the date. No way. UFC will move.

People need to stop acting like canelo is some mega star that doesn’t need to worry about ufc. Don’t forget that dazn forced him to sit gloved up for an 90 min in order to allow a ifc fight between two guys with 25 losses between them to fight first. Canelo vs Berlanga probably won’t surpass 300k ppvs.
