That’s a fair point. He likely realized it was the tenth round and Inoue was still fresh as a daisy.

He could see Inoue was starting to conserve energy, starting to prioritize contact over power. Once Tapales switched to high guard, Inoue could fully commit to the right hand because he was more sure they were going to land.

Who at 122/126 is as good as him? The lower weights right now are not elite until about 135lb and that is too much for him and wouldn't be fair to ask of him. He's a small guy himself.
