Absolute irony is that given he was somewhere in the top 3 of the other rankings as well, if he chose to wait for a mando for the other three he may have gotten a belt back that way next year.
The first fight with Espinoza being close and great lead to the drama of a rematch build up and...

Teraji wants an unification as well, and Teiken has obviously been building up their 112 stable to lead up to unifications next year.
Either Yafai agrees to join the card under Teiken in Japan or he'll be waiting until later in 2025 or just kill time and fight Ayala if he can....

Weight bully or not, if you make the weight naturally then it is part of the rules of boxing that you are allowed to fight.
I'm sure Inoue will fight him IF he is still there with a belt on him. If he wants to get some dibs go unify a belt or two and wait in line. But frankly I think Espinoza...

I don't like Eddie but if one thing he said is true, it is that guys get bubble wrapped too much to the point that they do **** until you are almost 30. That is how you get so many 28-0 undefeated "prospects" who fails royally at their first real test. Don't break them, but match close fights...OnePunch likes this.

So is Espinoza commiting to staying in 126 until Inoue moves up? Because if not, he's just one of the many big mouth wannabe that calls Inoue out from division above only to go MIA or lose before fighting Inoue. By the way in case Espinoza didn't know already, Inoue does not call out anyone outside...

I just think 130 is just his best division due to the combination of power, size advantage, and weight cut required without getting too weak. At 135 he loses his size advantage and his power isn't as devestating which he probably saw from his loss to Berinchyk. He'll probably stay at 135 until he physically...

So in the past two years, Josh Taylor vacated the belt to rematch Jack Catteral instead of facing the mandatory Jeremias Ponce which Subriel Matias fought for the vacant belt against and won but lost to Paro who lost to Hitchins. Why do I have a feeling that there will be more movement in 2025 too?

Okay maybe fight of the year was a bit too hyperbolic but it certainly was looking to become a good, enjoyable fight for the fans. Regardless of who wins in the end if that quality were to continue it would've been a satisfying rematch to watch....landotter likes this.

130 in general has been lacking in unifications for so long, they certainly can use some top dog guy to run it....

His last two less than impressive fights prior to this made me wonder if the luster was starting to peel off, but tonight certainly renewed some excitement.
Knowing his strength and limitations now and likely not going to attempt a 4th division, hopefully he goes for unifications now....

Nery was the WBC mandatory.
Unfortunatelo I think the addition of Saudi effed the order of the matches. I really think MJ would've been the Vegas match and Nakatani be summer in Tokyo until the Turki agreement with Inoue was announced a month or so ago. Saudi sliding in between Vegas and...

What is unfortunate is that through the first five rounds it looked like this would be another potential fight of the year candidate, which makes this ending even more anticlimatic and sad.

Well, unfortunately I guess his career is over for Robeisy. I'm not saying a few losses kills a career or anything, but the WAY he lost was just...too damaging to his image as a boxer. Maybe not retire, but he isn't getting a shot at a title any time soon.
And I really thought I'd see a...MeanestNiceGuy likes this.

Depends on your definition of elite, but IMO anyone who is/was solidly in the world ranked level contender/gatekeeper is fine to define as elite, especially considering by comparison to those being fought right now....

For his sake, I hope he atleast still gets paid for Davis fight the same he would've gotten with Ortiz, then be allowed to fight the winner of Madrimov-Ortlz later....

They almost had the near perfect situation but was a few weeks off ...had Madrimov withdrawn from a minor but affecting injury 2 weeks ago and pulled out of the Bohachuk fight stating he hopes to fight in late January or early February, it would have been a bummer but understandable. Then a fight with...

Hypothetically assuming the promoters agree and fighters themselves are willing to fight, what I think is ideal possible timeline wise:
2025 Spring- Inoue-Picasso? in Vegas, Bam unification at 115?, Nakatani final fight at 118?
Summer- Inoue-MJ in Saudi, Nakatani possibly a fight with 122...

Frankly I wanted MJ in April Vegas and Nakatani in summer Tokyo then off to featherweight for December. I guess the Saudi addition made the reverse of order and add on one more.
The b!tching by MJ was starting to get real annoying, but as long as the Saudi and Matchroom and MJ are in sync...crimsonfalcon07 likes this.
