Definitely cemented himself as top tier. Enjoyed what Crawford did to Spence but two undisputed in 12 months is some historic level shhh.

Lol Spence fans still salty invading Inoue article. Your fighter on that side of street was picked apart and dismantled by Bud. Deal with it.

Spence was never a P4P guy, just as Tank isn't until he fights someone real. For me he's in the same category as Boots. Passes the eye test in spades but FFS, fight someone. A handful of defenses in one division doesn't make for P4P.
And I'm on record multiple times before the fight questioning why he was considered P4P. Nothing revisionist. I've never thought even once he was P4P.
In the meantime, Inoue has fought champions in fully half of his career fights, more if you count IBO, which I don't. No other active fighter has that level of difficulty in his career. No tuneup fights, no lesser opponents, only the best available guys every time. Top guy in the division basically every time he moved up in weight. The only "blemishes" on his record are ordered mandatories, in an era where many, if not most champions, are getting flak because they duck their mandatories.
Put some respect on his name. None of your champions have fought the way Inoue has. None of them would have signed the contract Inoue did to never take an easy fight. He's the fighter that fans say they want, and your response to him proves that you're full of crap about wanting to see the best fighting the best. That's all he's done and you hate him for it.

Because his performance proved he was overrated by every US media. In reality Spence was seen to be on the similar level as Porter. A good fighter, but clearly not P4P top 5.
Thought he got a draw against Porter also.JOITATS likes this.

Really great win for Inoue, I knew there would be complaints even though he dominated every rd, dropped Tapales and got a ko win but I think Tapales did everything right from a strategic standpoint within his ability even in losing.
Inoue is p4p #1 and FOTY in my eyes.

That's wasn't spence that night too. Just like it wasn't bolt. The runners who finished ahead of bolt shouldn't be seen as the best runners in world. Just like bud shouldnt. When after bud beat spence, the general consensus was if 43 year old pac fought that version of spence pac would be 3 time W W champ. Just like many couldve best deontay wilder that Parker beat.
Spence as of today isn't a top 5, or even top 10 pfp fighter, and wilder isn't a top 10 heavyweight too.Last edited by hugh grant; 12-26-2023, 04:17 PM.BustedKnuckles likes this.
