Pavlik would've got his lunch money taken, Taylor would have collapsed in round 9, Johnson was too green, Wright too small, but Tarver...hmm...Tarver...
you dont think he was drained?
he'd probabley collapse after 9 also
I think the reason why people find this debate pointless is that the same works for Hopkins..except he probably beats everyone on Calzaghe's resume.
Yup, same point was made before I remember, heck we were probably bantering in the very thread!!
I agree Hops beats all of Calzaghe's butt they'd still also be a few competitive ones like Eubank, Kessler and even Roy of that time even.
And lets not forget it's a matter of time, in another sense Nard did not beat Roy whilst Calzaghe did. I appreciate a large factor is age, but prime Roy would be fairly favoured over both in essence.
Hops and Cal are miles different in many ways such as personality and styles, but with oddly similar resumes in some ways...
That Eubank would get sonned, by any version of Hopkins. Also Kessler imo is a tailor made opponent for Hopkins. A fighter with little upperbody movement, that fights ata measured pace and can be hit. Also this version of Roy Jones would get brutalized by a Hopkins in his 30s.

I really like Calzaghe, I just wish he had taken on 2 or three more guys before calling it quits. That way he would not only be recognized as a great fighter, but an ATG. A fight over Dawson would have been the biggest win of his career.

calzaghe's already an atg...beat the old guard and some of the new guard in his division, came to the states and beat his two u.s. counterparts quite handily, including #4 p4p "clinch-a-cutioner" hopkins...doesn't need dawson imo...
