I think a lot of people on here might be suffering from low testosterone, you should ask your doctor to test your levels the next time you go. The average testosterone level in America has gone down by over 100% in the last 50 years so I don't think it is surprising that nobody cares about heavyweight boxing anymore.

I must admit, watching Katie Taylor's last coupe of fights has made me question my appreciation for women's boxing, and has left me feeling like a casual. Tyson Fury, and the obvert corruption of the HW division has also pushed me away from such disgusting dishonorable and unsportsmanlike elements. But I find hope in the 'Peoples champ' Oleksandr Usyk and 'Big-Baby' Jared Anderson, but Tyson stinks.

Do you like great back and forth fights that are wars? I already explained how in the last 32 years the Ring ****zine Fight of the Year has only come from heavyweights 3 times. Meaning the lower weights were responsible for the best fight in 29 of those years.
What more is there to say really? Maybe you personally find a lot of satisfaction in the fact that prime Pacquiao could never beat prime Butterbean. But for those of us that truly appreciate boxing the heavyweights generally haven't been where it's at for 3 decades now.
It is what it is.
See, I think I am too. I love watching lower weights - they're great entertainment.
But it doesn't change the fact that it's a limited version of the sport. The best boxers with the ultimate combination of size, strength, speed, skill, technique, stamina, ring IQ exist in the heavyweights. If that wasn't true, then the lower weight guys would get themselves to their optimum weight and try for the heavyweight championship.

The lower weights showcase the "art" of boxing more imo. The talent pools in those divisions tend to deeper so the elites are the best of a larger field, and obviously a 250lb man is generally not going to be as slick, quick, mobile and unrelenting as the smaller guys.
That said, theres just something about HW monsters fighting. Its larger than life because they dont look like average Joes.

Posters are only fooling themselves. Any and all boxing fans know nothing’s more intriguing then a heavyweight fight . Everyone comes running to see a great fight between two big men that’s why it’s carried the sport for decades and no other sport gets the attention when it happens .

I'd argue that 'Heavyweight Champion of the World' is the greatest accolade in any sport.REDEEMER likes this.
