Comments Thread For: Haney: Most Important Fight For Me Is George Kambosos, To Become Undisputed Champion

LAS VEGAS - At just 23 years of age, time is on Devin Haney's side to achieve great things in the sport. The downside to entering his physical prime, however, is the possibility of outgrowing his dream of becoming undisputed lightweight champion.

Smart Young Man! If you can't get the Kambosos fight, move up! Use your title to go straight for the WBC title @ 140! You saw what happened to Teofimo! You can't stop time!

Just move up since you're struggling to make the weight like you said. He just wants to be "considered" Undisputed but hasn't done much of anything at 135. Say what you want about Teo but he at least chased a title, got the fight and beat Commey for the IBF then went straight after Loma.

Haney, not so much. He never fought for the WBC belt he holds and now he gets to luck up twice and simply WALK into an Undisputed clash? Sorry, but I can't get behind that. I mean what is he gonna say years down the line, "Yeah, I'm was the Undisputed Lightweight Champion and I beat blah blah blah!" Bro, you only fought Linares and Jojo's not even a Lightweight.

I want Loma vs Kambosos! The Haney fight just doesn't make sense, no matter how they try to spin it and "make it make sense." If you're gonna be Undisputed, at least be consistent in the ring and/or consistent in defending said Undisputed crown...not this whole, "I just wanna be undisputed and I'll move up right after!" NO!

I want to see a REAL Undisputed champion defend those titles...not some goofy one-off gesture for optics and validation. Again, I like Haney but I don't feel he should be given anything more than he's already been given.

No reason why it can't be Haney-Kambosos next.

          Unless wba mandated Davis-Kambos maybe?

The Impossible Dream (The Quest) : one of my favorite Sinatra song, appropriate for the 'Dream' materializing the unreachable, in spite all obstacles put in his way.

that would be the most fake AF undisputed champion in history; even Crawford's way to undisputed would look like a murderers row

All these pr1ck5 think "undisputed" means having all the belts. It doesn't. It is when you have beaten all your credible threats convincingly enough for no-one to dispute you are the best. Fuc41ng marketers.

Haney chased a title. He didn't get the fight, despite being mandatory. That champ avoided him. That champ was Loma. Haney didn't mess about going for no damn Commey. He went straight to Loma, who avoided him. He can't be faulted here.

Possibly, but more likely WBO order Kambosos vs Loma
