Congratulations to Terence Crawford on his hard fought victory. I was very impressed by his poise and versatility he displayed in the ring tonight and also to Shawn Porter for putting up such a spirited effort even in defeat.

As I expected Crawford who was the better man; Won tonight so I tip my hat to him. However, I have but one request for Crawford and that is to sign with the PBC ASAP in order to clean up this welterweight division by winning the crown; Which is all four of the major title belts at 147.

You are a free agent now so it is up to you to do it. That is if you really want it badly enough. No more excuses. The choice is yours and the ball is in your court now. If you want these big fights that you claim then it is time for you to take your career into your own hands.

Top Rank and Bob Arum has been holding you back for years from securing the fights that will ultimately enhance your overall legacy. This fight was only made because the WBO had mandated it and the PBC had agreed to sign off on it.

Did you maybe consider the dad saw something you didn't? Or again, have i missed the propencity of fathers to throw in the towel when their son is in a winnable fight now and then?
Dad's in boxing have an emotional connection to their sons. They become overly emotional to the point of distraction, it becomes a detriment to the fighter's corner. The father either gets too angry in the corner, or too concerned. They are not able to stay neutral. That was not a stoppage situation. Ken Porter stopped the fight because that's his son. Porter was not on wobbly legs, or stumbling around the ring. He was aware enough to pound the ring, and look straight into the ref's eye while not moving wobbly like a real hurt fighter. This was enough for a father to call off the fight. Which is BS. Porter was robbed of a possible comeback (anything can happen), and Crawford was robbed of a legitimate stoppage that was completely done by him and no aide from anyone else, for example a concerned dad.

Kenny Porter even displayed his bad sportsmanship towards his son in the post fight interview. He was totally unprofessional and his words were filled with emotions. No one agreed with what Kenny Porter said, not even a former fighter in Andre Ward. It's not just about throwing in the towel, it's everything that comes having your dad in your corner.

        Roy Sr with RJJ
        Jack Mosley with Shane Mosley
        Mayweather Sr with Mayweather Jr
        Yoel Judah with Zab Judah
        Angel with DSG
        Lopez Sr with Teo Lopez

These 6 father's were a detriment to their son's corner, despite teaching them to box.

Do not hear it from me, I am just a fan, read what Jack Mosley has to say.

LAS VEGAS, July 14 Boxing has a habit of fracturing relationships between fathers and sons.

Shane Mosley, Roy Jones Jr. and Floyd Mayweather Jr. were all taught to box by their fathers. All have been world champions. Yet all three, at various points in their careers, made the difficult decision to fire their fathers as trainers.

Sometimes it is about money, sometimes it is about ego and sometimes the reasons are far more complex. But like the Supremes and the Beatles, fathers and sons in boxing often split up once they reach the top.

A lot of times, fathers do not allow their sons to grow,” said Jack Mosley, Shane Mosley’s father, in a conference call with reporters last week. “They want to live their lives through their sons. Then you have people in the fighter’s ear and the father’s ear, trying to manage things and manipulate. People are envious and jealous. They want the money. There are a lot of reasons why father-son combinations do not work.”

Shawn Porter seems like a very nice guy. He refused to go against his father when asked about the stoppage. He was an adult about it. I am sure whatever he has to say to his father, he will say it behind closed doors. Shawn Porter did not allow his emotions get the best of him.

Ken Porter raised his son well, but unfortunately, he acted like a piece of sh/t himself. Throwing his son under the bus, talking about "lack of preparation". You can tell exactly what Ken Porter was trying to do. He was telling the media that Shawn Porter didn't listen to him and did not prepare like he wanted him to, basically, "don't blame me. I am a great trainer". You can tell that this is Ken saving face, trying to put all the blame on his son. His ego would not allow him to tell the reporter/fans that his son tried his best, trained hard, but we just failed. He made it about Shawn Porter not listening. As if to say "I am a great trainer, I had nothing to do with his".

Why I say he was under prepared?

Well, look who they sparred for example, a super featherweight in Gevonta Davis.

When Porter fought Errol, they sparred David Benevidez and Demetrius Andrade.

Think about it. Compare Andrade and Benevidez to Devonta?

          No comparison at all.

Also, when they fought Spence, they had a plus/minus eight month training camp. They said they had already started training for Errol since even before Manny Pac vs Thurman, but this time around they had way less preparation time.

So if he gonna say Shawn was unprepared, then he should blame himself. I been asking this question of why they aint at least get Jaron Boots Ennis to spar with them, or the same guys they got for Errol.

Nevertheless, Kenny is a piece of shieet!

Cong**** to Crawford coz he did what he was supposed to do.
They said the sparred with Caleb Plant as well, that was just and excuse. Porter put up a good fight but he wasn't beating no Terence Crawford, not skillful enough..

That's disappointing, Shaun really, really wanted to fight and he was so frustrated with each knockdown. Shaun wanted War, he trained preparing for War, his mentality was War, everyone on his team was prepared for War - except his dad. I hate to say it but Kenny was the weak link in the fight. From the post fight interview I think Shaun is very surprised at his father's decision and given what Kenny just said I think their father-son boxer-trainer relationship is damaged.

Crawford did what he had to do but didn't look that good, certainly not enough to be called the pound for pound champion.
I had Porter up by 1 point after 9 rounds but to his credit Crawford closed the show decisively in the 10th.

The devil is in the details.

                  Go watch the Porter podcast.

Shawn explained that he only sparred Plant once, and it was not that long, three rounds I think.

But with Andrade and Benevidez, he actually hired them to help him prepare for Errol.

Bud has to sign with PBC to clean the division? This means PBC is the problem the whole time people are pointing fingers at each other?
