The towel from the corner took me by surprise too, but we could all see what was coming. There was a lot of time on the clock. Kenny knows both fighters and he could see the writing on the wall. I can’t fault him for stepping in at that time.

If there's a fighter that should be allowed to go out on his shield, Porter is one of them. I really didn't like how Kenny threw him under the bus, claiming he was under-prepared.
Let's get Ugas/Crawford next.Last edited by kiaba360; 11-21-2021, 12:53 AM.

It took crawford a little while to time porter and caught him coming in with some counters, thought his defense was lacking here and there, chin unprotected was getting caught with couple clean punches on the inside, but porter kept launching in, finally the counter uppercut dropped porter. The stoppage is a little weird.Last edited by jabbbbb; 11-21-2021, 01:50 AM.

I swear, Juan Manuel Marquez could not fight in this era in his prime. He'd lose every big fight on his resume with the way fights are stopped these days.
Porter should remove his dad as his trainer and coach. This fight should prove that for him. Specially after that bs excuse at the end of the match.
Crawford is great but I did see how he can be beaten. Too bad Porter just doesn't carry enough pop to hurt Crawford.
Truer words have never been spoken. Marquez would have had like 8 KO losses for every time he got dropped which was almost all the time.
I understand being a father means protecting your kids at all time BUT, Porter could have fought on. I don’t think he would have won but at least we’d have no regrets or this discussion that we’re now using.

If Spence wanted the fight, he would have got in the ring and demanded it. He doesn't want the fight. PBC going to go back to protecting their welterweights.

Is anyone surprised ? Porter is past his prime. Heck, maybe even Crawford is past his prime. This is exactly a Shawn Porter fight. Swinging wildly hoping to land. As I said before the fight on this forum, Porter doesn't have elite skill. What he is , is a very good contender. He's a very small, weak, welterweight. It finally caught up to him. I thought the fight was horrendous from the get go. All these announcers on ESPN trying to make it sound like a war because that's what Porter had on his shorts, what a joke. I've seen better sparring matches. Give Crawford credit, he dropped him a few times. Is he better than Spence? I still got Spence ahead, Let them fight. Spence hits 20x harder than Porter. Spence is alot bigger than Porter. And Spence's skills are off the charts. Let's see how Crawford handles that.Donnie Herrera likes this.

Very weak stoppage......porters dad should not be in the boxing game if he jumps in when his son is getting hit a little and could quite easily have come through it.
Porter was in the fight and could have come back and won those last 2 rounds.
It’s world championship boxing ..... you lay it all on the line for Christ’s sake.

Than on to Kenny Porter who masterfully prevents a PBC fighter from being thoroughly wrecked in front of the world, than creates controversy for the stoppage by throwing Porter under the bus and now everyone will be talking about something other than Crawford's actually winning the fight. Smart Play?Last edited by Castilo; 11-21-2021, 05:19 AM.

Fix was in. Porter getting a nice kickback for that. Another Wilder vs Malik Scott. Crawford is trash, so overrated but will duck Vergil Ortiz and Ennis and run to 54 for vacated belts after Charlo moves up to 60.
