A major ww title fight between 2 Americans that Could be a FOTY candidate. How much would it suck if that happened and most of America didn’t see it because it was on DAZN?
He’s an ultranationalist. He is the product of the EDL/BF, Yaxley-Lenin Britain in which the nationalism/populism has so taken hold that working class folk voted against their economic interests and now the Lorries can’t supply Tesco’s, M&, or Sainsbury’s due to the shortages. He just wants Eddie Hearn to run not only boxing in the U.K. but wants him to run American boxing to and he just doesn’t get it that Americans never bought into dazn. He doesn’t live here, has never lived here, just hates on the USA from afar. Probably got radicalised watching black Americans on YouTube

Ifit goes on the platform you want on a 90 Dollar PPV and gets 200k viewers in the largest market globally in the whole sport. 200 thousand ppl out of millions and millions is that really reaching out to the masses? And neither fighter are big sellers, ppl love to point out how little they care about Crawford. The current trend even for a Tank or Spence shows they can't break 250k.

Personally I hope it goes on DAZN cuz I've got DAZN where as I have Sky and BT sport but there is no guarantee they would pick the fight up. My issue is with the DAZN haters like yourself who claim it would be a detrement to the sport if they were to win the bid where it would be good for the sport for FOX or Showtime to charge 90 bucks for it and get not many ppl paying for it.

You are anti DAZN which in truth is because you are anti Eddie Hearn. I don't know exactly how many US subscribers DAZN has in the US but if a FOX PPV only brings in 200 or 250k then how is that giving it to a much larger audience? Just cuz the wider market is there it doesn't mean they will be watching.

My problem with the PBC is the blocking of good fights and if Porter walks away if DAZN win the bid then that would be just another example of what my problem is.

And here's the rub. If it goes the PPV route it will probably get around 200-300k buys. Other than the commercials hyping the fight, that's not really exposing the sport to the masses (unless you consider those watching illegal streams). From what I've read there's around a million DAZN subscribers in the US. It will most likely reach more fans if it's on DAZN as opposed to PPV.

I made a clear point about the US market. That is the primary market for both TR and PBC. I also said it would be a joint PPV.

See what you did there- I posted it would reach more people on Fox, sho or espn, which are all non ppv. I never posted it is best to charge $90.

No I’m not anti Hearn. I very rarely post anything about Hearn. My point about DAZN was the Lack of subs in the US market. Not that the service is bad.

Since you can’t refute that point you try to frame it as anti Hearn because I pointed out you are anti haymon, a point you yourself have posted many, many times.

Can you honestly post that I’ve gone in on Hearn like that?

Yes you do know subs are low because you’ve posted threads about that.

True it doesn’t guarantee viewers but it has more potential viewers than DAZN in the primary market.

No what you do is frame everything as PBC’ s fault because you don’t like Haymon. No matter what happens you will blame pbc, whether the facts show it or not.

It would be nice if you got upset when everyone blocks fights.

More Americans have bought in to DAZN than are paying for PPV's. As for all that other bollocks you spouted about me you clearly have no clue what you are talking about.

              1. I don’t know that DAZN had that many subs.

              2. the ppv sales are actual buys. Fair point that there are more DAZN subs than likely ppv sales, but will all of those households be watching?

You think more than 30% of DAZN subscribers would tune in for Crawford/ Porter?

If it goes PPV then it better have a stacked card with pbc and ESPN fighters. The fight itself will probably produce some fireworks but these are two names that only die hard boxing fans in the USA know.
Crawford and Porter as a matchup in itself is about the level of fight I'd see on HBO or Showtime championship boxing back in the late 90s. If it was on Showtime or ESPN, I'd be fine with that.

I'd be willing to get the PPV if the card was loaded like Fury/Wilder III with an all HW contender undercard.

If the undercard ends up with showcase fights or Edwin Berlanga versus Khyrone Davis I will pass...

When’s the last time a top P4P fighter had to go to a purse bid? Embarrassing for Arum and Bud.
Is there a chance the winning bid won't even be enough to pay both guys what they want?

I not convinced this fight is a ppv level fight.

I just read that number earlier today in a sports article (not a post on a sports board) so I should be able to pull the article link if you'd like. It was roughly a million US subscribers and 8-9 million worldwide although I also read a more recent article stating 12 million worldwide. I can't state those are accurate numbers, just what the article claimed and I am sure those numbers fluctuate a bit.

I can't speak for other DAZN subscribers, I can state that every time they have a fight, I watch it (same as every time FOX, Showtime or ESPN/ESPN+ have a fight I watch it).

I'd love for FOX or Showtime to air the fight on network/cable because that would generate the most amount of viewers/exposure and come at no additional cost to me. If that's not the case, then I'd want it on DAZN. If it's PPV, then at least stack the card to make it worth it.
