LOL if it were that easy every fighter would be making 8 figures a fight. That's just not the way it works. The fighter will NEVER make more than the promotional company in the end.
I'd love for Floyd to fight, but it's just funny he'd yell "$20 Mill!!!" knowing damn well neither Top Rank or GBP are going to pay him that upfront, especially considering he really isn't THAT exciting of a fighter (don't get exciting and skilled confused). Both the Oscar and Hatton fights were great performances from Floyd, but lacked any real excitement and for the majority of the people paying to see a fight, they want excitement.
Floyd is about business, but so are Top Rank and GBP. They're not ******.
I disagree about the Hatton fight, dudes I know talked about that **** for weeks afterwards. The last thing you did is what people normally remember most, atleast the general public and that was a highlight reel ending for sure (I think we can all agree that was probably the best ending Floyd ever put on a fight).
Top Rank and Golden Boy would not pay Floyd that much unless HBO was onboard, imo. HBO can put finacial backing behind either firm so the risk is not as large, HBO made a lot of money off of Mayeather (especially the last 2 fights) so they may put up the long green to give it another go with Mayweather on PPV, I could see them doing that but they would probably be the only one with the money to make it come about.
Considering his first two loses were early in his career, I don't count those. And manny has gotten so much better since the morrales fight. What is with you guys? it's like losing one fight means your a bum.
I didn't say anything about his 1st 2 fights. but he was well seasoned when he fought Morales, Mab, and JMM. Morales and Mab were not at their best and yet he still took a L to Morlaes. JMM and Pacman are 1 and 1. U get 3 kd in 1 rd and get a draw, then that man who got up 3 times kicked yo a$$ for the rest of the fight.
I didn't say he was a bum, I just don't agree he the best then or now!
I can't understand a word you're saying with Floyds **** in your mouth.
lol....deep down, u know i'm right. Pacman exciting, but so is Gatti. now i'm not comparing Pacman to gatti, but Pacman is the 1 that got some doubt to be addressed.

Should I start in on why Corrales, Hernandez, Oscar, Ricky and Judah weren't at their best? It would be real easy to do, I promise.

My man, you couldn't be any further from the truth.
disagree most fans of boxing like to see the best taek on the best and challange themselves. Floyd needs to take on 2 tough fights in my mind to achive the status his fans are already giving him. The wins over Hatton, Judah and Oscar are all good on Floyd resume. I like to see him add Mosley and PAC to his resume and then we can give him the ATG status his fans are giving him. I am not a Floyd hater I love boxing and Floyd is one of the most skilled fighters of his era. He can move block make you miss and counter punch. he has tremendous hand speed and I just wish he would open up with more combinations. I would love to see what he would do under fire much like what Cotto did when he fought Tony. I would like to see Floyd in a fight like that. Where there are some serious exchanges and he needs to use every ounce of his skill and will to come out the victor. People compare Floyd to Sugar Ray Lenoard and greats like Ray Robinson and P$P like Ali well those guys beat hall of famers and were in these types of battles to achieve that level of greatness. All we want to see is Floyd doing what Floyd does best against a more then worthy opponent. I would love to see Floyd vs Cotto too. I would take 2 of thos names and be happy as a pig in slop to pay PPV $$$ be smiling all week when I knew that coming Saturday Floyd was going to take on Cotto or PAC or Shane.....Lefty
Good post but you're not a hater ... I think the statement that Floyd haters are not genuine boxing fans is fair.
