Kermit Cintron has next to NO respect with a lot of Puerto Ricans , looked terrible his last fight out, got beat twice, cried during his KO loss in the 7th saying it was a head butt, got saved and at the end received a gift draw, plus did a su****ious dumb ass dance on top of the rope.

Kermit Cintron is not a marketable guy or likable in the Puerto Rican Market. If you want to make it an ethnic thing then why not pick Joshua Clottey? He's African and it's MANY Africans in NY and that could motivate them to buy into this match because it's with the popular, fan friendly Miguel Cotto in Madison Square Garden on the eve of the Puerto Rican Day Parade? No matter how you look at it, Cotto gains the most by fighting Clottey.
I personally believe that the only thing he will gain is more respect from the real and hardcore fans. Even beating Berto would give him respect because he took an "0"..Like Apollo Creed said" Someone steps in and whoops this chump where does that leave me?" Its better to beat a guy that is unbeaten then someone with losses (casual fan, which are majority).

Beating guys like Cosme Rivera, David Estrada, Steve Forbes, and Luis Collazo get you to a point where you are not green anymore. Hes a world titlist, let him unify.

Berto claims he learned. And in my opinion he did. He's a young fighter and that was his first real tough test and now he knows he can go 12 hard rounds and that he has the heart. You can always think and say you have the heart but you never really know until your tested. He was tested, he passed, and now he knows he has it.

lol at the plaster thing. Im still interested to see how Cotto can take the shots. Its a thought you can think about when they are fighting, worrying he can get caught and hurt any time....makes it exciting and keeps you at the edge of your seat.

Ricardo Torres hurt Cotto with right hand-left uppercut combination. Margarito was able to get them off on him, and Mosley landed a very solid one.Judah caught him with a good one in the 1st round. Cotto fights with his head down a lot, the uppercuts get in sometimes. Young caught him with a lot of lead right uppercuts in his 3rd fight as well.

      ..........

I think it will be a great fight

Berto needs to step up and see if he belongs in the league. Hes the young hungry champion, and Cotto's on the road back to redemption.

Many people other than boricuas seem like they wouldn't mind seeing Cotto-Berto.
I agree with you but I would much rather see Mosley/Berto (The PAST & THE PRESENT Fight to be THE FUTURE of the Welter Weight Division) that fight to me is more intriguing than Cotto/Berto. Don't get me wrong I wouldn't mind seeing Cotto/BERTO but I would much rather see Cotto/Clottey & Mosley/Berto then the winners of them two fight each other.

you know that berto is a paper champ. he struggled badly against collazo and has no chance against cotto

I don't doubt berto's heart or going 12 rounds, I doubt his skill. I doubt he can go 12 rounds with cotto. its like sending toddlers to work.

if berto was KTFOing guys left and right then I'd say it will be interesting to see how cotto can take berto's shot, but that's not the case. we already know cotto can take berto's shots.

but cotto beat them all except the one with plaster.

but it won't be, not in june... maybe in 2 years.

he alread did step up against collazo and barely got past him. he dont need to fight cotto in june. thats like throwing a goat in a cage with a lion.

throw Cotto,Mosley,Berto, and Clottey's names in a hat and I wouldn't mind seeing any of them fight each other.

But I see what your saying Mosley-Berto would be good, but I doubt we see it. Mosley said hes only looking for super fights.

Berto loses by TKO or quits on his stool.

According to Cotto's promoter Bob Arum of Top Rank, three options will be presented to Cotto, which include unbeaten WBC welterweight champion Andre Berto, IBF champion Joshua Clottey and former champion Kermit Cintron. The final decision will be up to Cotto. [details]

I like the way this guys swears he speaks for all Cotto fans...since when has Cotto been known for taking the low road?...your making up facts man, All these guys are threats a 147 even that bum Cintron has one punch KO power especially at 147, Berto is unbeaten, and Clottey got a Margarito like Chin....besides as hardcore as you and I or all of us are...you need to remember that the casual fans are the majority and the majority will probably want to see Berto THE UNBEATEN young lion...but just in case you forget AGAIN, Clottey is the biggest threat, and the best from the hardcore perspective.
