Why is it Kelly comes back from a devastating loss yet Arum doesn't want him facing another belt holder even.

Whilst Cotto does, and he gets given a nice list of top guys to choose from?

I'm tired of hearing that Berto's too green, too inexperienced, wet behind the ears....the man gotta start somewhere with serious competition...Might as well be with Cotto. And if he loses, big deal!..We knew going in, what the odds were. Every fighter is green at some point. That no reason to deny them, or rule them out of serious contention. Berto has done pretty well so far...Now he really needs to step up his game...And he's going about it the right way; calling people out. Let's see what he's got against Cotto, and let's not whine about the Collazo fight, because he fought his heart out...he earned that win. Sure he was seriously tested, but he came thru when he was put on blast. Clottey-Cotto of course is the fight I WANNA SEE...but i'll take Cotto-Berto equally as well. I think that fight has the potential to be a lot more exciting than C-C would be. Cotto would be the ultimate challenge for a young cat like Berto trying to prove himself. If he loses, he goes the way of Funeka i.e compliments even when he lost. If he wins though...It would be the biggest thing for some time, and we will see a whole new BERTO emerge from the shadows of his old self. Either way, it's really a plus for him. He loses, he still gains MORE PROFILE....he wins, and he ALMOST BECOMES THE BIGGEST THING IN BOXING...just like MARG's CHIN was for a while there...remember?

      lol

how do you know? berto hasnt fought since that fight. are you psychic?

doesnt matter, cotto will deal with them fine as long as they dont have plaster in their gloves.

other than with plaster gloves, when has cotto ever been hurt by an uppercut?

        yea really

I'm seriously, its not a competitive fight

we both know berto is not in cotto's league right now.

it'll be more fan-friendly for boriquas... the rest of us want to see a competitive fight. Viva Cotto/Clottey!!!
How is Berto green? He's a world champion. He should have never gotten the belt if he couldnt fight elite guys because hes green. He just beat a solid top 10 former champ, he needs to step up some time, why wait? If he fights lesser comp than people will complain. Beating guys like Cosme Rivera, David Estrada, Steve Forbes, and Luis Collazo get you to a point where you are not green anymore. Hes a world titlist, let him unify.

Berto claims he learned. And in my opinion he did. He's a young fighter and that was his first real tough test and now he knows he can go 12 hard rounds and that he has the heart. You can always think and say you have the heart but you never really know until your tested. He was tested, he passed, and now he knows he has it.

lol at the plaster thing. Im still interested to see how Cotto can take the shots. Its a thought you can think about when they are fighting, worrying he can get caught and hurt any time....makes it exciting and keeps you at the edge of your seat.

Ricardo Torres hurt Cotto with right hand-left uppercut combination. Margarito was able to get them off on him, and Mosley landed a very solid one.Judah caught him with a good one in the 1st round. Cotto fights with his head down a lot, the uppercuts get in sometimes. Young caught him with a lot of lead right uppercuts in his 3rd fight as well.

        ..........

I think it will be a great fight

Berto needs to step up and see if he belongs in the league. Hes the young hungry champion, and Cotto's on the road back to redemption.

Many people other than boricuas seem like they wouldn't mind seeing Cotto-Berto.

I hear you but a Mexican rivalry would be better in NYC around the Puerto Rican day Parade and since there is no Mexican to fight the next best fight should be a tough fight. Kermit Cintron has next to NO respect with a lot of Puerto Ricans , looked terrible his last fight out, got beat twice, cried during his KO loss in the 7th saying it was a head butt, got saved and at the end received a gift draw, plus did a su****ious dumb ass dance on top of the rope.

Kermit Cintron is not a marketable guy or likable in the Puerto Rican Market. If you want to make it an ethnic thing then why not pick Joshua Clottey? He's African and it's MANY Africans in NY and that could motivate them to buy into this match because it's with the popular, fan friendly Miguel Cotto in Madison Square Garden on the eve of the Puerto Rican Day Parade? No matter how you look at it, Cotto gains the most by fighting Clottey.

Floyd Mayweather Jr = BEST ON THE PLANET...HATE IT OR LOVE IT.
                    Ricky Hatton = TRASH
                    Miguel Cotto = TRASH

First of all, Gayweather is retired! Second, you say he is the best and call two champs trash. These two guys are willing to fight anybody which is something that couldn't be said about your boy. Hatton is fighting Paquiao in May and Cotto said that he'll fight Paquiao too. Gayweather won't come out of retirement to fight Paquiao because he's scared! He can't use $$$ as an excuse because that fight would make tons of it. Floyd never wanted to face Cotto because supposedly Cotto wasn't well known. Everybody knows Cotto now, so his b.it.ch a.s.s needs to come out of retirement and stop talking s.hit! And you need to get off his D.I.C.K!

so you admit that berto is green but you want to feed him to cotto still???

berto already was tested by the gatekeeper known as collazo and barely passed. he has no chance against cotto as is.
