I Can't agree with your opinion on that one....your talking like you haven't seen RJJ fight before he fought trinidad...RJJ 10yrs ago was a beast...not saying he would've walked through calzaghe but your talking like RJJ was average 10 yrs ago

Roy handled pressure fighters well and had most trouble with southpaws. Got dropped by a southpaw by a punch that was delivered very quickly, and KOd by a southpaw as well. Roy wouldn't be able afford to leave his hands down like that against an even faster than he is now Calzaghe.
Joe is a speedy southpaw whos pressure style hasn't been beaten.
It would make for a very interesting and close fight with absolutely no reason to believe it would be a blowout in either way.
Your point about roy being dropped by a south paw that he didnt see coming...hmmm 2 things. 1st when did he get dropped at what age was it? and was Roy not already shot from losing 25 pounds of muscle. 2ndly the shot that dropped Calzaghe since your talking about fighters and evaluating them upon their reflexes at at 36 and above, he was dropped by straight rghts how fast do you think he would have been hit when roy was peak. How many straight right hands would Roy been able to counter him with when roy had his timing, reflexes,STAMINA, instincts, speed, confidence.
Your a freakin Joke. Calzaghe beat WHAT TOP FIGHTER WHO WAS PEAK? Roy beat two, not all that great but he did beat two. Calzaghe is making his name vs fighters who are WAY past his prime.

Reasonable heads know otherwise.
Secondly 1% is more like the chance that Calzaghe wins a round vs Prime Roy.
It is hard to have a debate with you cause you base your idiotic debating on pie in the sky fantasies, on chance luck, on something that you cant back up with logic. I have lots of debates on here, me and Wmute debate, and while we may disagree he backs up his position with logic.
Here is your position. Calzaghe is close to 50/50 with prime roy based on, hmmm how he fared vs Roy now, his speed and pressure style. That roy got dropped by a punch he didnt see coming from a southpaw.
You leave out all rationalities, and chose not to look at exactly what roy did vs fighters for 45 or so fights while he was prime. Let see...Pressuring Roy and throwing punches is exactly what all fighters planned to do UNTIL THE SAW THE SPEED OF HIS COUNTERS. Many fighters simply stopped throwing punches when they realized his reflexes and counter where got to them before they could even bring their punches back from the punch. Roy of the 90's is twice as fast and with much more power than any Calzaghe that dared step in the ring. Plus Calzaghe's speed is based of off slapping. He does not commit to his punches, he slaps and slaps and slaps.
Just imagine Calzaghe rushing in on Prime Roy slapping and in Roys reach daring him to counter...Just imagine that. If you can't, just go to you tube and look at this . Imagine Calaghe trying to run in this speed. Do you not get it that Roy has 0 left, due to age and damage to his fast twitch muscles.
Pyscho...if your going to have a debate...brush up on Prime Roy. Then make a logical comparison between the two. Calzaghe would have gotten the dog crap beaten out of him. That slapping stuff is a joke. Roy had real speed, and power combined. The worst thing Calzaghe could do is try to pressure prime Roy, as he would have been walking right into harms way.

No one cares about where a fighter is from other than Joe's clown ass fans. Most of you ****ers started watching boxing last week and it shows.

Whomever thinks that that weak slapping is entertainment, or that he would be able to beat a PRIME Roy is a complete idiot, as he would have 0 chance.

you get the drift...
I've been looking for a thread like this because i knew it existed. If Joe stays around long enough he will be KO'd too.
I have some bad news for Calzaghe though. "You fought the ghost of Roy Jones, not the real thing and still got knocked down and hurt ". Anyone with some sense knows that and piss on Joe for saying he was down and hurt in the ring when asked about the KD by Max Kellerman and then going back and saying that he slipped in other interviewes because of his shoes. That was classless. Washed up Jones dropped you and took everything you had and the prime Jones TKO's you. Simple as that. -Peace.

Good lord, get over it already.
You think a prime for prime matchup is a blowout for Roy.
I don't.
The history of boxing proves that sometimes, the guy who you think is going to win,
simply doesn't.
