That doesnt bode well for a boxing argument.

    Actually, Roy stans believe that.

    Styles?

Roy handled pressure fighters well and had most trouble with southpaws. Got dropped by a southpaw by a punch that was delivered very quickly, and KOd by a southpaw as well. Roy wouldn't be able afford to leave his hands down like that against an even faster than he is now Calzaghe.

Joe is a speedy southpaw whos pressure style hasn't been beaten.

It would make for a very interesting and close fight with absolutely no reason to believe it would be a blowout in either way.

Captain purple loves the word "stan". He thinks it's funny. It is clearly not.

Sir Purple, seems the world is full of stans, and you are one of the few chosen ones.

            1) JC was a supermiddle in his prime

            2) The Del Valle knockdown was a good indication of Jones having trouble with southpaws as much as Calzaghe-Jones was an indication of Calzaghe having trouble with senior citizens. In both cases the fighter who dominated the entire fight got dropped.

            3) Tarver fights nothing like JC

            4) Jones was 35 by then, so nothing prime about that.

            5) Jones before HW is 8-0 in title fights against lefties.

I will sum this thread up for you all!! Joe Calzaghe is a great fighter now and he always has been the record says it all.. There is know one in the division now that can even hold a candle to him and hes 36 years of age..You have to give him the respect he is due,,But as far as to say he would have beat Jones when Jones was at his peak,Mmmmm I can't see that happening at all but there always is a boxers chance I guess.. Roy Jones when he was at the top was unbeatable, Skill Speed Power the guy had it all..ENOUGH RESPECT GOES OUT TO ROY JONES...
                PEACE..

and a prime time joe calzaghe . postured against a prime time roy jones jr. i think not . why have you people got no respect for fighters outside your union! no wonder you have no boxers of any clout!. whos left for joe to beat! believe me he will overcome bernard hopkins' negetive angle again! kelly pavlik! shown up by bernard hopkins ! who else!

guess what the only legitemate contender is carl froch! from the uk!! read em and weep america ! where the **** is your boxing talent! sad to be honest!

and you harp on about our boxers never coming to your neck of the woods! the feeling is mutual!! .

I think RJJ could have beaten Calzaghe with ease in his prime....Calzaghe is a good fighter, but i think overrated....his punches are fast, with no power....now i'm not taking anything away from calzaghe but i believe jones should have won that fight....jones didnt because he didnt throw any punches..he was afraid of gettin KO'd again...just my thoughts

You guys are disrespectfull to boxing making a statement like that, If you guys were in a room with all time greats, experts and writers you will not say that out loud, because deep inside you know better, but this is a forum so spill your ******ity all over it who cares.
