You have no evidence which suggests he didnt try to fight Johnson. You're just making **** up again. Warren clearly stated he'd be speaking to Johnson and Tarver's people. So obviously an attempt was made but once again JOHNSON WANTED TARVER.

This is just ******ity and failure to deduce quotes. Johnson was asked about Calzaghe by the BBC. He said he would fight ANYONE. What else would he say? He also said: "My mind is not on Joe Calzaghe because I don't believe he's a serious fighter and I'm only looking towards fighters who have a reputation of setting a fight date and keeping it."

Those are not the words of a fighter who is calling someone out. Johnson was clearly still pissed about Joe pulling out. How you can decifer that he is desperate to arrange a fight with him or preferred to fight him here is beyond me. WHY WOULD HE? Do you realise that both Tarver and Johnson dropped their belts to fight each other? Thats how much they wanted to fight. Why would either of them want to fight Calzaghe?

Dear God. Do you have any idea how boxing works? Do you really think Calzaghe and Johnson were in negotiations and Calzaghe said "You can fight me..........BUT.........you must get past my henchman, Clinton Woods first HAHAHAHA!!!". Please tell me you dont believe this.

You think Woods is that much better than Bika? Get the **** outta here!

Johnson had already arranged to meet Woods of his own accord for the IBF Title shortly after Joe beat Lacy. Calzaghe then arranged a fight with Bika. It was at that point, they started negotiating again for a match. They couldnt just get out of their arranged matches. IT DOESNT WORK THAT WAY.

The fact that Calzaghe had still actively pursued and had an agreement in place to fight him when he didnt need to is proof enough that he wanted to right that wrong.

A date was set for Joe to step up to light heavy and take on Johnson, but Joe got injured and wisely decided he wasn't going to take on someone like Johnson with only one hand.

A second date was set and the same thing happened, he got injured and pulled out.

After this Johnson got his shot at RJJ and knocked him the **** out. He then decided that Calzaghe wasn't "box office" enough to fight him, so refused to enter into any more negotiations.

Think about this now, and think about it carefully. After pulling out of a fight because you were "scared", would it make sense to then sign the same fight again? Wouldn't people think you were a laughing stock if you ducked someone twice? Do you really think Joe would have signed the second contract if he had no intention of fighting Johnson? Bearing in mind that would have effectively ended his career.

Nobody ducked anybody, the fight was signed twice, Joe got injured, end of.

Joe beat his wife up and hurt his back and hands, that and he bottled the fight.
It took Joe the slapper 10 years or so before he fought another champ, he should have fought Jones 5 or 8 years ago.

              just playing devil's advocate here...

but didn't warren say something like joe was scared to fight johnson and had to force joe kicking and screaming to sign both times???

If Johnson had been given the decision in the 3rd Woods fight, then this fight would have been made. I would love to have seen this fight as it would have been a good one, but i don't think Joe will fight Johnson now as its to much risk for little reward but i hope i am wrong.
