Pavlik has not called out Joe at all since the Hopkins fight was announced. It is Joe freaking out publicly because the ones interviewing him I believe keep bringing up Pavlik's name.

Joe then goes off in a tizzy. It will happen in other press stops for Joe vs Jones also. It goes to show where the interest is. Joe and Jones have their upcoming fight but Pavlik keeps being brought up in them.

is Calzaghe a bafoon? this is the second time he mentioned Pavlik ducking him right after his first Taylor fight. Taylor had it in the contract that he could demand an immediate rematch(which he did) if he were to lose the fight. There is no way Pavlik could've accepted a match with Calz even if he wanted to.

And Calzaghe says that Pavlik still hasn't done anything yet, he wanted to fight Pavlik before he even stepped into the ring with Taylor, Miranda and Zertuche. If he is overrated now and that was his reason for refusing to fight him, then what was Pavlik back then when Calzaghe first challenged him? was he a proven fighter then and he is overrated now?

Calzaghe has NEVER called Pavlik out. Not once, twice or three times. Why would he call him out back then and not now when PAVLIK is a CHAMPION and STILL undefeated with a 90% KO rate. Its because HE didn't call **** out. Joe is a Hypocrite.... Simple as that.

I don't know why anyone still continues to talk about how Joe "called out" Pavlik. he didn't nor did he call out Jones jr. I hope Jones speaks his true feelings when the HBO show comes on next month

Brewer was not the peak of his career when he faced Calzaghe, and no-one said he was. He was however, along with Mitchell and Sheika amongst the best SMWs America had to offer at the time. Do I think any of those three, or Lacy, were 'top' boxers who were supremely excellent, no I don't, but they were the best America had. Since the poster I was responding to was claiming that Joe fought 'UK competition' I think it is reasonable to point this out.

Thanks for making the comment about Brewer. Excellent, I had mentioned that earlier but was ignored. It should also be noted that Byron Mitchell was also barely hanging on to his title, and was picked by most pundits to lose it at any time.

Also Pavlik may not beat Joe, but he's def. beaten better fighters than Kessler ever has. Hell Taylor is better than anyone Kessler BEAT (yes I know he fought Joe, but Joe beat him).
