Bro Pavlik vs Lockett was a title fight also, so please dont try to impress me with numbers. If hes not in his prime then I feel sorry for him because he has left his prime behind without beating anybody signifcant. Taylor alone is a bigger fight then anyone Cal has ever faced (keep in mind Bhop was way over the hill when cal "beat" him). In fact I doubt Cal could ever get past Taylor. The fact is you keep saying over 20 title fights, 45-0, and all I see is bull**** fights against no namers, old schoolers, and overhyped fighters end of story. Like I said Taylor alone is worth more then Cals whole resume (let alone Taylor twice).

Taylor is Pavliks best win but after the Hopkins fight (where he didn't look impressive but you never look good against Hopkins) who did he beat? Who did he look good against? He should have lost to Winky, couldn't KO Ouma and sc****d past Spinks. He looked his best against Pavlik were he got KO'd. Taylor is a good fighter but he doesn't consititute greatness.

To compare Jeff Lacy to Kelly Pavlik is dumb. Pavlik has already accomplished more than Lacy could dream of.

Hard hitting American punchers of limited experience whose fans claim will stomp Calzaghe. Pavlik has achieved more in boxing terms and appears to be better than Lacy ever was, but the circumstances leading up to a potential fight are pretty much exactly the same. How is Pavlik regarded if he loses one-sidedly to Joe? How would Lacy have been regarded had he won? Exactly.

Four US top super middles...like Charles Brewer? Yeah...he was REALLY top flight when Calzaghe fought him. So much so that he lost to Antwun Echols right before. You know Echols, right? One of those "bums" Hopkins beat at middleweight.

Brewer was not the peak of his career when he faced Calzaghe, and no-one said he was. He was however, along with Mitchell and Sheika amongst the best SMWs America had to offer at the time. Do I think any of those three, or Lacy, were 'top' boxers who were supremely excellent, no I don't, but they were the best America had. Since the poster I was responding to was claiming that Joe fought 'UK competition' I think it is reasonable to point this out.

It'd be easy to say the US hasn't produced a single boxer that's beaten Joe when they were plenty at 175 that he could've faced. And they would've all garned him more money then beating Will McIntyre, for instance.

It's also easy to say that the US has produced boxers who would have beaten Joe when they were in different weight divisions than the one Joe made his career in.

As usual IMDAZED, you read what you want to read. When I point out that everyone said Lacy would stomp Calzaghe, just like they say about Pavlik now, you interpret that as Lacy = Pavlik. If I point out that Joe fought the best his division had to offer and beat them all, you read that as "Calzaghe beat loads of absolutely brilliant boxers". I know you have a fragile ego and winning arguments on here makes you feel better, but you would enjoy it even more if you won ones that weren't hopeless strawmen erected by you and were ones that people actually made.

Calzaghe should fight Pavlik but Calzaghe will be 37 it doesn't make sense to go on like Hopkins is and lose/risk your health. Pavlik has fought Taylor and that's it. Miranda was a limited one direction power puncher. He cannot punch going backward, he cannot fight on the inside, he cannot box. Taylor has looked terrible against everyone he faced infact h looked best against Pavlik.

Calzaghe should fight Pavlik but Calzaghe doesn't have to because you want him to. It would increase his Legacy alot and I would love to see the fight but Pavlik has won titles from one man and then fought no one else yet.

Unified the super middle weight division wining all 5 belts !
Moved up and beat Hopkins to win the ring Light heavyweight title !

Why would pavlik duck calzaghe? He has nothing to lose by facing joe. Calzaghe has it all to lose. Real boxing fans know joe ducked pavlik! Facing roy jones is not a boxing decision, it's a pure money making decision. It means low risk and big bucks. Yeah he would have got the big bucks with pavlik but might have got knocked out in the process. **** like this pisses me off. I hope roy jones gets a fair decision against calzaghe and not robbed!
