You trying to tell me about population sizes just sounds like excuses to me. As far as American boxing going down the ****ter I really don't see that. We have so many fighters and many really good upcomers. As for the Olympics we failed but really I don't put stock into that. Most good fighters turn pro and as for the guys on this team a few of them will be pretty darn good. Olympic boxing doesnt mean much anymore.

You dont have better fighters just because you are American , you have them because you have more guys in more boxing gyms getting the right tuition drawing from and tested in a level of competition thats very high , its as much about the good teaching of the craft the youngsters get in American gyms as it is about the large numbers of the population living below the poverty line where the male youth see boxing as a way out , that mixture is a melting pot for talent and America has a huge melting pot where vast numbers of young guys fall by the wayside and very few make it to anywhere near main event status let alone the stars we talk about in here , it really is a numbers game but you still need the foundation to be built in stone .
