Langford was never a champion at heavyweight either.

No he wasn't the lineal heavyweight champion. That was not his fault was Jack Johnson who had offers to fight Langford never did.

Langford was however the heavyweight champion of Mexico. I think France also made Langford their heavyweight champion the they stripped Johnson for not fighting him or Jeanette.

The only thing I am unclear of is whose titles were meant to be regional when and transfers. For example I know the French title was a world title not a french regional. It's a world title from france. I do not know if the Mexican title was meant to be a world title from Mexico or a regional mexican title. I know he beat some guys while they held titles like these but I've never heard him called that champion.

That said, and this isn't meant to be complete, I'm aware of the following:

Langford beat Jeanette for the FBF world title. Often sighted as IBU, not sure if the FBF was a member, their own thing or what, but, it comes from the french boxing commission not the international boxing union.

The NSC world title off Bill Hague, pretty cut and dry. Was a world title, won it from the NSC. Not the FPC or BBBoC or CBC.

Mexico, covered, I dunno except he won it and defended it several times

Aussie title from McVey? Langford beat McVea while he hold the Australian HW title. I'm unsure if it even transfered to Langford or not let alone world or regional. I know he beat McVea while McVea was a standing champion though and man who beat the man...ya know?

Panama title from Clark or McVea? Clark wins the Panama title sometime before he fights McVea. Jeff vs Sam wasn't for a title, I think, but either Clark or McVea is certainly the champion and both of their next losses are to Langford.

Colored MW title, not sure if it was multiple times

NSC world MW title, once I am pretty sure

World Welter - Okay, I know the official, but, the Lowell Sun reports Langford absolute schooling Walcott. An official draw is an official draw but this is worth mention. Sam was maybe robbed of world WW honors. Think of it as a honorable mention.

That's a ton of unter-belt earnage and I'm sure there's even more to be found.

Maybe needed roids for heavyweights ? Jones wasn’t a bum. I remember once passing by young Toney in a mall and then realizing who he was in the early 90”s . Had that aura of not to mess with him with two guys by his side and not because of them . Would have been a great autograph but when you see up and comers you don’t think much of it and I kept walking by .
