We barely get to see much of langford to assess styles, but my money would be on him to beat Toney and likely badly.

havenāt been able to study him much though, I did gather he had this punching technique that allowed him to jab and hook off the jab with varying degrees some would say they couldnāt tell if he was hooking or jabbing them. Havenāt been able to see it though.

Actually, the first post is like 4 years old so you'd be forgiven for forgetting this but as a matter of fact I did say the situation is poster's choice.


So yeah, if Willow decides it, Sam can wrestle. Wrestling was part of boxing to a larger degree in Sam's era than Toney's, so logically he should have that advantage if you want to give it to him in that scenario.

He was offered to fight Langford in France too. He had contacts to fight Langford before. But did not or pulled out of them. Why is it the Johnson never fought Langford, Jeannette or McVey as mature fighters EVER? He certainly had the opportunities! In some cases he waited but never did he take the fight when the money was there. Been through with him already and never even argued with the kid about any individual. Tried to explain you can't tell how fast some of these old timers were by film because the film speed was on a crank as like, advice, for how to make his point.

It's cool if you feel like boxing has evolved and the old timers can't keep up, but citing their film studies like it's possible to tell me JJ's hand speed by the crank of the camera operator is probably the weakest way to make that case.
