Now we've established that Max wasn't a rocket scientist, in what way do you think he was useful to the US government after the war?

he didnt need to justify himself before.

being closely associated to hitler and the **** party cant have been a good look for him in the 1980s

        what logic?

and please tell me what context can possibly make shmeling look good in this situation? 😝

"you know shmeling won an iron cross right?"

That is a direct quote from you, citing an association with the German military during WWII as proof that Schmeling was a ****.

In response to that, I cited that Oskar Schindler had more prominent associations with the **** party (including working in their spy network), then posited that if we are to judge Schmeling guilty merely for his associations then we should do the same for Schindler. Considering both men did help ***s during the time as well I feel it apt to point this out.

Once again, I am not claiming you are wrong in your implications. Rather than you are clearly ignoring contrary evidence and playing a bit of a straw man game. Which sucks, because it seems to be a topic worthy of an adult discussion, as opposed to childish name calling and attempts to 'win' an argument as opposed to come to valid and correct conclusions.

          from an latimes article

"In 1937, Adolf Hitler asked Schmeling to appear at an outdoor reception in Munich for Italian dictator Benito Mussolini. According to an Associated Press report, the ovation for Schmeling exceeded that accorded Hitler."

"asked" ? -- I doubt that. I wonder what the reception would have been like a year later. Of course he wouldn't have been there. Although I bet the reception still would have been a good one.

Wouldn't matter either way. Hitler was a propagandist and only wanted to use Schmelings image. Still zero proof Max was a **** in any way.

I hope you didn't think I was suggesting that anecdote as example of his attitude. I wasn't.

I was just suggesting that the German people loved him as all nations embrace their champions. He didn't need the **** propaganda to make him popular; they [the ****] were gaining off him, and needless to say they, in their actions were shameless.

no it was far worse by a massive magnitude in the 50s.

What makes you reverse that obvious?
