The toughest moments to get back up for the next round

There have been many brutal fights where these guys later on said that they felt they were close to death. Name some fights where you believe it would have been extremely hard to get back up to fight in the next round(whether the fight continued or was stopped).

Famous fights like Ali-Frazier 3 for the 15th round, Lewis vs Vitali for the 7th round. Maybe the most amazing was Jess Willard getting back up against Dempsey in for round 2 and even round 3. The first round he already suffered such a ferocious beating as his jaw was even shattered.

When we look at this medically it has been documented fighters have fought with broken jaws. This is very tough to do. Broken ribs? Also really tough to do probably even tougher.

Preclassically a big problem was broken hands. Not quite as painful but the ability to punch...

As far as specific fights we know Ali fought with a broken jaw against Norton. I forget the super middleweight, I think it was a Middle Eastern guy, who fought with a broken jaw as well relatively recently in the tournament that Andre Ward won.

Arthur Abraham against the african Miranda? Miranda was a hard puncher too, I never got that gif out of my head where they were in a clinch and Miranda head clashed on Abraham's severely swollen jaw and he stepped back in severe pain.

Certainly too many to count. Multiple times in the Ward/Gatti fights, for both fighters I would have to conjecture. I am betting Holyfield had multiple such rounds against Bowe. But Holy was a guy you had to beat into the ground like a stake to stop.

What about Foreman v Stewart? Incredible courage Big George showed in that and many other fights.

Mancini in the last three rounds of Bramble II. It must be hard to finish a15 rounder when your eyes are swelled shut by the 13th round. But he did. Lost a UD.

                  - - Stewart KDed 2x early in the fight, not George who backed off trying to get the ref to stop the fight that let Stew back in the fight.
