You said you were prone to exaggerate, you were right!
For starters. Langford was 156 lbs against Tate who was 230 and 6 ft 4. He knocked tate out.

ill find some welter numbers tommorow. That was easy though. He gave up 70 lbs in that fight

As a welterweight, the largest man Sam Langford is recorded to have knocked out was likely Sandy Ferguson, a heavyweight who stood 6’2” and weighed around 200 pounds. Langford fought Ferguson multiple times early in his career, including when Langford was still competing as a welterweight (around 142–147 pounds).

In one notable fight on April 26, 1906, Langford, weighing approximately 142 pounds, knocked out Ferguson, who outweighed him by more than 50 pounds. This victory showcased Langford’s incredible punching power and ability to compete effectively against much larger opponents even before he fully grew into his middleweight and heavyweight fighting days.

On April 26th1906 Langford ,weighing 156lbs fought Jack Johnson and took a terrific beating, being floored 3 times for long 9 counts, having his eye closed and getting a broken nose.

          Langford fought Ferguson twice,in 1908 W Dec .1909 Draw.
          Langford was a middleweight from 1906 .

For starters156lbs is not a welterweight and ,after1905 Langford was never a welter weight again

Langford stopped Tate once in1917 ,on the 14th of May.

On the 10th of April of that year,[1917]Langford scaled 204 lbs to fight Jack Thompson,do you think he lost 44lbs in the 34 days between those fights?

You need to stop making these exaggerated statements, they are not helping your credibility at all !

Listen ******, I have Langford's biography on my desk as I type this.
I brought up Johnson because ,on the day YOU SAY he fought Sandy Ferguson,[the 26th of April1906,]
                Langford actually fought Jack Johnson!
You keep making up these lies and expecting us to accept them, well from now on , I'm calling all your BS out for what it is deliberate lying!

                  1. Bailey
                  2. Hearns
                  3. Robinson
                  4. Trinidad
                  5. Barbados Joe (Fleischer said he was the best WW ever)
Lole Joe Barbados was the best WW ever and you basing your opinion on somebody else opinion? There is zero footage of this guy. He fought in a era where the gloves were smaller. His KO percentage still isn't top level but you heard somebody else say he was great? Good stuff.

sorry there is conflicting numbers on boxrec and written accounts.

                       is the date

He floored Ferguson numerous times and gave up 35 lbs(boxrec). and 50 lbs in the first bout weighing only 142 but this bout isn' t even on boxrec. conflicting reports though. it's very hard to find solid evidence.

You can't get snappy with me when it comes to a guy like Sam Langford, only a fraction of his record is even on boxrec, and he fought in the NWS era where draws could mean anything. The goal with Langford should be to actually find things out about him.

All I know is he gave up massive weight advantages and still registered knockouts.

Even his bout with Tate is a perfect example.
