Also, the elephant in the room is PEDs.

Guys who were 250lbs weren't going to be able to fight hard for 12 rounds in the past. Now they can.

Also, they can achieve greater speed & quickness while maintaining that size now.

We see the same thing in the NFL, NBA, MLB, etc. . .

    It aint no new thang.

If I gave George Foreman what these guys were on, he'd be 260 of solid muscle and wouldn't have gassed out against Ali in the Jungle.
A PEDed out Foreman in 1974 would have been scary if not outright dangerous.

      A syringe full of energy.

What I would like are some figures. What impact, numerically, has switching to 12 rds had on fatalities and serious injury, if any? Switching back to 15 rds would probably just encourage 'roid ogres to up their doses.

I take it this means, that you believe lighter boxers would rule the HW division, if we extended the number of rounds in title fights to, for example, 45?

Primo was discovered in the circus. He did not come close to gassing out ever. Neither did Willard. Or Abe Simon.

Boxing wisely switched the light ounce over to 12 ounces for heavyweights. Could you imagine Foreman with those 6-8 ounces Joe Louis era gloves? Or vs. that competition?

Carnera was discovered by a journeyman boxer called Paul Journee who found him sitting in a park. The circus had been disbanded.

"The circus, after traveling all over Europe, wound up in Paris in 1928 and disbanded. A second-rate heavyweight pug named Paul Journee, walking through a park one day, came upon Primo sprawled disconsolately on a bench. Journee marveled at his size. He sat down and began to talk to him. It was this simple action that started Primo Carnera on his fabulous ring career. Here began the blood, sweat, frame and fix that, in six short years, was to see him crowned heavyweight champion of the world."

The circus was a sad display of unfortunate freak like humans and abused animals. A few rich men made the money and put them on display for the world to see.

It would be nice of you to provide a link to your quotes. Here you go.
