If we assume that $70 (i.e. the price of GGG vs. Clenelita) is a reasonable PPV price in the US for a non-Mayweather fight, then:

      1,532,000 x £20 = £30,640,000 PPV revenue.

      Exchange rate: £1:$1.38.

      Therefore, £30,640,000 = $42,283,200.

      $42,283,200 / $70 = 604,045 PPV buys equivalent.

In that calculation I’ve ignored that the price of the PPV jumped to £27 when ordering on the day, so it’s fair to .
I don't need to check my maths - you need to check my post!

That's the same number I gave for AJ's best selling PPV ... roughly the same income as 600k US buys at $70 each. (If you ignore the same day purchase price hike)

Er. Try again, mate. I was replying to the guy who said AJ did 250-400k PPV equivalent. Used your post for reference.

Anyhoo, on-topic I think Wilder is great for boxing. He’s a moron and he can’t actually box, but when you have that athleticism and power you don’t really need to. Put it this way, if he wasn’t around then AJ would potentially be in the Wlad position of dominating for a decade without ever having a career-defining fight because no-one is good enough to beat you until you get old.

Your right my math wasn’t precise I didn’t use a calculator and just did a rough estimate while I wrote the post

But his best fight against Klit topped out at 550-600k Us PPV ( when you factor regular for 70 HD going for 80 and split in the middle) which is good and great when you factor in the size of the Uk. Again I’m not saying AJ isn’t a walking ATM in the Uk

But I used the 250k range because his fights with Martin , white did reportedly 400-550k UK PPV range
That is equal to around 200-250 k ( not precise )

So yeah his fights generate the equivalent of 200-550 k US PPV

When you factor in 1.5 million PPV ( his best #) in the uk and factor in the price they were going for and do a comparison to the price of a US PPV and include the exchange rate it brings in around the same as a US PPV doing 450-500k which is good but not earth shattering

So his fights bring in $ wise around 200-500k us PPVs. That’s why AJ and his team want in the US market

But to become a star in the states he’ll have to fight Wilder first ( the most popular American HW ) so yeah Wilder hasn’t sold a PPV but his name along with his strap means he has some leverage

Multiply that 200-500k ppvs by 5, since the US has 5 times the population of the UK

Now that's what I call real talk

I don’t think it works like that when you look at how much $ AJ fights bring in

Why stop there just imagine how big his #s would be if he fought out of China

I know. I was just pointing out the fact that he did 1.5m ppvs with klitschko in a country with 1/5th the population of america. Unbelievable numbers. He brings in a ****load of money. We'll agree on that.

I hope you guys are playing. Wilder has been awesome for Heavyweight boxing. The division is probably at it's most exciting now since Lennox left. I honestly love tuning in to watch Wilder and his crazy swinging. It's almost hysterical how he throws himself at the opponent with these pterodactyl like arms flailing all over the place and in the end, his opponent is left clueless on the floor.

I can't wait for him to fight a bigger name like AJ to truly see how far he can take his madman style, but it'll be a blast as long as it lasts. I also never took his trash talk serious. He's a real humble dude after the fights. Haven't any of you seen him at the post press cons? Most of his prefight talk is just to hype it up and honestly, it's too forced at times. I don't take any of it for real but if it adds some value to watching his fights, I'm all for it.

I mean the dude's from Alaf**kinBama, how could you not like him? lol
