Originally posted by kafkod View PostEg, Hearn said AJ/Vlad sold over 1.5m. The BARB number is 1532000.
1,532,000 x £20 = £30,640,000 PPV revenue.
Exchange rate: £1:$1.38.
Therefore, £30,640,000 = $42,283,200.
$42,283,200 / $70 = 604,045 PPV buys equivalent.
In that calculation I’ve ignored that the price of the PPV jumped to £27 when ordering on the day, so it’s fair to assume that the numbers edged towards 650,000 equivalent buys in a country with roughly one fifth of the population of the US.
Anyhoo, on-topic I think Wilder is great for boxing. He’s a moron and he can’t actually box, but when you have that athleticism and power you don’t really need to. Put it this way, if he wasn’t around then AJ would potentially be in the Wlad position of dominating for a decade without ever having a career-defining fight because no-one is good enough to beat you until you get old.
