i acknowledge dem ******* (the real ones).

seriously, a person should assume theres a life after death.....just in case.

the need to have all the answers or be too prideful to believe in something greater than man will cost a person dearly.

us humans will never learn, pride is the enemy.

Well as far as afterlife goes, this is what I think when another mortal human being talks about the afterlife and their being one.

          basically, yes.

''Pascal's Wager claims that it is better to believe in God, because those who believe will go to heaven and those who don't believe will go to hell if God exists, but if God doesn't exist then nothing is lost by believing. This can be turned around by saying that it is better not to believe in God, because those who believe will go to hell and those who don't believe will go to heaven if God exists, but if God doesn't exist then nothing is gained by believing.''

i dont get the bold stuff. how can believing in god lead to hell ?!?!? and how can not believing in god get you into heaven ?!?!?! a person cant rewrite how things are ''supposed'' to be (ei, god/jesus are loving and fair and they live in heaven. heaven is the ultimate paradise. the only way to enter is to believe in them. then theres the extreme opposite. satan is the ruler of hell. hell is supposed to be eternal suffering).

IF a person is aware of these ''facts'', then believing in god/jesus is the best course of action IF that person wants to get into heaven. if a person doesnt care one way or the other, its just as good as not believing.

imagine your wife/gf/bf (in BSland, you never know) seriously asking you if you love and believe in her/him, and the guy say he doesnt care one way or the other, what kind of relationship is that ?

a person certainly wouldnt want to believe in a god if theyd rather hang out with a guy like satan in hell. land of the baby ****rs and mass murderers. the worst of the worst.

pascal is right, that it all hinges on if a person believes in a soul.

            ''duh..........''

the only people who know for sure are dead. lets face it, mortal man wrote every single religious book there is. who/what else is a person going to listen to if NOT a fellow human being

You know Pascal's wager has been debunked as logically fallacious centuries ago, yeah?

nope but it seems logical that it was. that bold stuff alone made no sense.

he was onto something though by mentioning the risk/rewards in what we believe in.

in the end, none of this matters. there either is or isnt a god. im pushing all of my chips to the center knowing that its a cant lose proposition in there being one

Religion was created by man, but I don't rule out a design to the universe or the existence of higher forms of consciousness and higher beings.

I don't rule them out because I don't know, but I've been baffled and awestruck enough by reality to know anything is possible. I'm aware of the incomprehensible magnitude of existence and my own incapability as a human being to even begin to grasp it.

if you go to your deathbed believing in god and you find out he doesnt exist, oh well. no harm no foul. but if there is a god and consequences.....what then

if for no other reason than to save your soul, might as well believe in god/superior being. its not as if god (jesus' dad) is asking us to bomb every fncking thing in sight in his name. all he wants us to do is acknowledge him and his son and to love each other.

                      i dont understand the resistance.
My parents are extremely religious as Catholics and they tell me that people who dont believe in God will go to hell. Lol

Answer this.. i know two kinds of people in this world.

The first ones are the types that go to church every sunday and preach about jesus every chance they get but once they are out of church, they do the most scandelous things to other people, take away from other people, they do the opposite of what they Are supposed to do as god fearing people.

Another type are the ones who dont go to church, they dont believe in God yet they live righteously and have the kindest heart.

                      Which group goes to heaven?
