I remember once walking into a room where there were a bunch of 6-year-olds in the nude and some guys were about to take stints.
I handed them all the beers I'd just got from the kitchen and said "you know what, guys, if I saw someone do something really fucked up, I'd snitch."
Then I took my turn.
How do you find what you just wrote even remotely funny?

Now, give us the context of why, in your case, and what these situations that allow the eternal code to be broken are.Originally posted by El-blanco View PostIf someone is a *********, ****s someone, runs up in a bank and shoots innocent people, then all of them deserve to be snitched on. That's not even snitching. That's making your community safer. Unless you're willing to eliminate these people yourself, calling the police is the only option.
Snitching is about breaking a code within criminals. If we're both slanging and you get popped, and sing about me, that's snitching.
"Snitching is about breaking a code within criminals" -- this is how I view the term "snitching" as well. I'm no criminal so that sh.it doesn't really apply to me, but I'd call the cops if I DO see a criminal pulling a crime.
I think the problem here is people confusing "snitching" with regular people reporting criminals to cops or warning other people about a person who can do them harm or is up to no good.Last edited by Ruthless One; 05-03-2016, 02:21 PM.

You don't have to be bros to stick to the bros before hoes code. It's really a guys before girls code, but bros before hoes rolls off the tongue much better.

If someone is a legitimate threat to the community then they need to eliminated. Whether that means you deal with it or "snitch," on them. I'd question your character if you think that someone who is robbing innocent civilians shouldn't be "snitched," on. One day it could be your mother on the other end of that barrel and she could be killed. Not sure why you would want someone like that in the community. Again, that's not snitching.
In my case, yes, I would do something about it over snitching. I served in the special operations community for 6 years. Back where I was stationed, when members of my unit got rowdy and had public intoxication or fight related incidents in public, the local police department wouldn't come by until they had at least four separate patrol cars if they knew what unit was involved. They wouldn't approach a drunken soldier with less than four officers. They know what they are up against and they know our training *****s theirs by a long shot. I would be in serious trouble, I would probably do years in prison, but principle and morals and honor are everything to a man, a real one. The last thing I want or need in my life is to lose my job and thus ruin my career and dishonor my patch and my family, but there is a line that you just don't cross with any sane man, every man has that line or he isn't a man he is a flat out coward. But despite the consequences of my actions in the legal system, there is one thing I am certain of, whoever pushed me to that point would be way worse off physically and would regret whatever they did for the rest of their life. I am not immune to the legal system, and I am an honest tax paying citizen who goes about his business and doesn't bother anyone, but if it ever "gets real", I am not losing that battle.
So the point is yes, if I witnessed something horrific and it was between doing something or calling 911, I would absolutely put things into my own hands for the sake of the victim more than anything.
You might have done the "right" thing in the eyes of the law by calling the police, but you are also a flat out coward for witnessing something brutal being done to an innocent civilian and not taking action to prevent it. You can make excuses all day, but the fact of the matter is you were afraid for your own life, so while you might excuse snitching, you sure can't excuse the fact that while you think it's pathetic to not say anything to the cops, it's even worse to sit there shook for your life and then act like some hero for calling 911 from a safe distance. I calls it like I sees it, like that clown said in The Devils Rejects.

I think people are a little bit confused.
Ever hear the saying "Don't do the crime if you can't to the time!"
To me a snitch is a slimy little worm who gets caught up in his own bull **** then want's to rat on some one else so he can get off the hook.
If you are an alpha dog and can stand on your own two feet and you want to right a wrong that's not snitching!
When I was home on leave from the Corps I witnessed a purse snatch. Young thug knocked some old lady to the ground (after he already took her purse). That **** pissed me the **** off! I chased him down put the beat on him and held him until the cops got there.

I'll snitch on certain things, if I see suburban kids hauling explosives into their house, yup I am snitching
If one of my boys gets caught cheating, yeah I am snitching, singing like a bird, telling his girl, that he was with me the whole time, lol
